Comparative report
Direct Digital X-ray machines and equiptments
Product: Samsung XGEO GR40CW Direct Radiography System with Innovix (Viewer)
This comprises both the observed evaluation of the on-site radiologic technologist and the in-
house chief radiologic technologist. The equipments were used in three companies.
This feedback was based to the evaluation and observation of Dr. Ma. Lucia Tizon-Alvarado. Dr.
Alvarado evaluated both DDR demonstrations and relayed the feedback to the chief radiologic
technologist.

Overall Feedback
The image quality of the machine produces a superb output in comparison to our existing
equipment. It was also faster in scanning, omitting the transport of placing the cassette, and reducing
the time of examination done per client. But due to its different interface and features, there will be
some adjustments to be made for is to compensate to our workflow. Our onsite radiologic technologist
commented that it has better scan speed but the patient demographics interface (pre-examination),
takes couple of steps instead of just one. Making it somewhat hassle in the technologist’s part.
Bullseye solutions presented the demonstration of their software Innovix Viewer. This is to
assess the workflow at the radiologist and inhouse part. Dr. Alvarado and I observed that it lacks features
and imaging tools in reading a chest radiography.

In addition, I also observed that it has a complicated patient list. It no indicator in which a user
can identify if a patient was done or awaiting to be processed. This will cause confusion on our
radiologist, especially when reading too many procedures.
Lastly, an error “Error Loading Image”occurred, in which the software specialist is still figuring it
out.

Overall Feedback
Evans Medical Trading Corporation Demonstrated their direct digital radiography system. The
image quality and the scan speed were excellent. This time, the radiologic technologist on-site
commented that the interface is so friendly its just one step, and then it proceeds to the examination.
Unlike the Samsung, the components of the equipment are less and compact. It also uses a laptop at the
computer, unlike the Samsung that requires a whole desktop.

They also demonstrated the ImageSuite Viewer on in-house. It was here that the ability of the
system to adapt and improve the workflow was suggested by the specialist. The viewer has the
indication that a patient was already read. That imaging tools were available on the top, and the viewing
images are flawless. The patient worklist is non-confusing, and user friendly.
The specialist also explain that we can improve our workflow and processing due to its feature,
the electronic reporting. Dr. Alvarado also followed through that this will avoid the errors in translating a
doctor’s handwriting that sometimes it needs their verification, delaying the production of result. Sir
Mark the software specialist also suggested, that the electronic reporting me be connected to our
management system that may lessen the time of post processing the results.
But still, it has a downfall. Since the demonstration in both company it was deployed. The
company name input was wrong. The problem is, it cannot be changed. Therefore, if the onsite
radiologic technologist mistakenly input the wrong name of company and started the procedures, the
whole of it has a wrong company name. The only workaround that I did was with the help of codonics
engineers. If ever this mistake happens again, the company name will be erased in the printed side of
every CDs that we will burn.
