in a sentence or two?
Paul reaffirmed the faith in Christ, the resurrection and the second coming of the Lord,
and some instructions to work hard without limitations, to live honorably and holy
without lust and adultery.
8.- Consult External Sources.

a. Paul was very concern about the faith of the Thessalonians and perhaps the fact of
the religious people of Athens, and the city with many idols and altars created in
Paul that concern to reaffirmed the faith of the Thessalonians sending Timothy to
Thessalonica, another fact to compare is that Paul talked about the God, our Lord
Jesus Christ and Resurrection with the two towns, and the main people that follow
his teachings were Gentiles (Greeks).
b. Holy Bible ABS popular version
Holy Bible SBCI VI edition

In both bibles mainly are agreements, both talked about the problems that
encountered Paul in his Gospel, the problems originated by the Jews.
But the Gentiles were the followers of the Gospel.
I found only something that I can’t understand… in the letter, Timothy was send
by Paul to Thessalonica (Th 3:6) and in Acts 17 don’t say about the trip of
Timothy to Thessalonica.

c. Year 50 Paul and Silas were in Thessalonica.

3 months after the Jews persecuted Paul and Silas in Thessalonica.
Paul and Silas were in Berea and Timothy. But the Jews appear again.
Paul was in Athens and Timothy and Silas join him later
Paul go to Corinth and Timothy were send by Paul to Thessalonica
After Timothy returned to Paul, He wrote in the year 51 this 1st letter to the
Thessalonians to reaffirm their faith.

9.- Based on the above information, try to determine the author’s main purpose in
the writing the letter.

The main purpose of the letter is reaffirmed the faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, the
Resurrection and to have a good path for living.

10.- Begin the initial toward contextualization and application.

a. The benefits of this letter goes beyond what it said to the simple reader, I presume
that the Thessalonians as Us need the reinforce of our faith and follow rules to
live consecrated to God, respect for our body and be loyal to our marriage and
work. And wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
b. This benefits me in the way of how to respect our work, marriage and the most
important! How we need to follow correctly the teachings of our Lord, and don’t
misunderstand that teachings. And never be corrupt or get far from the good path,
no matter how strong can be the opposition. There is always a way to take the
Good Path.
