BUSINESS CHALLENGE
Develop a regional, knowledge-based economy and information society by democratising access to
information
Make emerging technologies available to local people and businesses
Modernise local public administration with faster and more efficient service delivery

municipalities of our region. From now on we can provide more quickly better services at a lower cost to
our clients and citizens. Also the citizens gain more control and knowledge over the administration
procedures. Accountability and local democracy also benefits from this project. Not less important, we
hope, is the impact on fostering the local and regional development through the improvement of conditions
to economic activity and the reduction of costs to enterprises. And this is only the first step. We are going
immediately to build a broadband network connecting all the municipalities and their local industrial areas.
Soon we will be connected to the world through a fibre infrastructure.
