The Concept of e-Government

e-GOVERNMENT
01 Is the use of ICT to enhance delivery of Government services in terms of quality,
availability, accessibility and innovation of new services.

“The use of ICT” is an efficient way of conducting transactions between the Government

02 and its citizens, business communities as well as within the public administration

Depends on the four major building blocks: (i) e-Government related Policy, Laws &

e-Government Authority (e-GA) is a


public institution established in 2019
under the e-Government Act, No. 10
of 2019 to coordinate, oversee and
promote e-Government initiatives and
enforce e-Government related
policies, laws, regulations, standards
and guidelines in public institutions. It
is a succeeding institution to e-

ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT DATA SHARING AND
EXCHAGE PLATFORM

▪ e-GA has designed, developed and operationalize a data sharing and exchange
platform- Government Enterprise Service Bus (GovESB), for the purpose of facilitating
data sharing across the public service (Section 48 (2) ).

▪ More than 80 systems connected and sharing data through GovESB which including
Government Central and Critical systems (GePG, NIDA,MUSE, TAUSI, ERMS etc).

DEVELOPMENT CENTER (eGovRIDC)

e-GA established Research, Innovation and


Development Center (eGovRIDC) located in
Dodoma, at UDOM with following objectives:
i. e-Government’s ICT Research and Innovation
activities coordinated;
ii. Enabling environment for e-Government
related research established;
iii. e-Government Platform for information
sharing among different players in both
public institutions and public-private sector
enhanced;
iv. Enabling environment for Innovators,
talented Youth in ICT to exercise their
