INTRODUCTION TO THE PHILOSOPHY

Guided Learning;
1. Discussion: Compare the importance of nature from the ancient to the modern
era.

ღ Humanity will not be here if it wasn’t for nature. Ever since from ancient times
up until now in the Modern era, humanity evolved alongside nature. In the ancient
era, it provides us the needs for survival. For an instance, a farmer cares for
vegetables and land animals (for example the pigs, chickens, etc.) while those
people who resides near the ocean, seas, and rivers, hunts for fishes. If they
don’t have food, they can get one from their inventory. If you want fresh air in a
more relaxing space, you can just feel the breeze of the trees. It is comparable in
the Modern era since we still get our food from nature The difference is just that
many people became consumers of it. Aside from that, in the modern era, it
became more polluted.
2. Review the ecocentric model and evaluate your personal views and attitudes
towards nature.

ღ As I review the ecocentric model, I realized that nature should be appreciated

not just as a survival needs for us humans. The Earth’s ecosystems, atmosphere,
water and land, it all gave birth to life–the nature actually gave birth to us. Hence,
we, as a part of nature should appreciate it through taking good care of it and not
polluting it. In that way, we can survive, and the nature can also survive.
