TASK/S:

Search for media outlets that use two or more modes of communication with their customers. For
example, a news program on TV which is simultaneously broadcasted over the radio and has a life
Facebook feed.

Do a research and comparative analysis of the types of outlets the communication network uses in
terms of the following:

(a) Content

(b) Audience reach

(c) Technology utilized

(d) Your personal preference

A) Content

After conducting a research for media outlets that use two or more modes of communication with their
customers, I have decided to choose PCSO or The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO, Filipino:
Tanggapan sa Charity Sweepstakes ng Pilipinas. It is a government-owned and controlled corporation of
the Philippines under direct supervision of the Office of the President of the Philippines. It is mandated
to do fund raising and provide funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities
of national character. The raised collections goes to the President's Presidential Social Fund to improve
the country's social welfare.

B) Audience Reach

I must say that the PCSO is on their peak in reaching their audience. PCSO maximized and used all the
existing social media platforms and media outlets. First example is on Facebook, their Facebook page
has a total number of 540, 643 likes and 740,000 follows. While on Youtube, their official page is PTV
and has a total of 794,000 subscribers. The program is also simulcast on TVs and radios.

C) Technology Utilized

PCSO Lottery Draw is a Philippine television game show produced by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes
Office (PCSO). It airs daily (except during public holidays) on the People's Television Network (PTV) since
March 8, 1995, and involves the PCSO workforce consisting of more than 2,000 employees nationwide.
The program consists of drawing of pari-mutuel and fixed payout lottery games, sweepstakes games,
and since November 15, 2017, it added the centralized draws of the Small Town Lottery (Pares, Swer3
and Swer2) for the provinces that do not conduct their own local STL draws.
The program is also simulcast over Radyo Pilipinas 1 738 kHz, Radyo Pilipinas 2 918 kHz, DZME 1530 kHz,
and Brigada News FM stations and PCSO and PTV's websites, Facebook pages and YouTube accounts.

D) Personal Preference

As a millenial, I prefer seeing their programs on social media platforms like, Facebook, Twitter an
Youtube. Most of the time I spent my time using my mobile phone and browsing on different social
media platforms. Broadcasting their programs on social medias made it more accessible not only in our
generation. Because as of the time, seniors and elders also spent their times on Facebook and Youtube
that keep them entertained.
