MEMORANDUM FROM THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR

FOR : Presidents/Heads of Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) in

Rizal, Quezon and Batangas Provinces

SUBJECT : CHEDRO IV Meeting with the PHEIs Officials on Student Vaccination

Program

In line with the implementation of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program and
Memorandum from the Office of the Executive Director dated October 4, 2021, the CHED
Regional Office IV (CHEDRO IV) is tasked to coordinate with the higher education institutions
(HEIs) on the vaccination of teaching, non-teaching and students and assist HEIs with low
vaccination percentage to link with the Regional/Local Vaccination Operations Center. In this
regard, the CHEDRO IV will hold a meeting with the PHEIs officials in Rizal, Quezon and
Batangas Provinces on November 4, 2021 (Thursday) at 9:00 a.m. via Zoom Video
Conferencing platform.

The meeting aims to: a) present the data on the number of faculty, non-teaching staff
and students vaccinated in the said provinces based on the results of the survey conducted by
CHED; b) determine possible strategies to encourage and increase the number of vaccinated
students; and c) establish strong coordination mechanism between the HEIs and the LGUs and
DOH for the vaccination of students.

As of this date, the number of vaccinated students in Region IV is quite low considering
that vaccination is already open to the general public. The CHED is encouraging that tertiary
students be vaccinated as it will boost their immunity against the COVID-19 virus and pave the
way for the possible gradual reopening of limited face-to-face (LF2F) classes in various
programs/disciplines.

Relative to this, Presidents and Directors of the Office of Student Affairs or authorized
representatives of PHEIs in Rizal, Quezon and Batangas Provinces are invited to attend the said
