Task 1

1. First datum has to be at the bottom of the part (yellow), since it is mounted at the top of the
pump to fix the rotation around two axises and translation up-down. Secondly the datum B
has to be at the center-hole to secure the part from moving sideways. The last datum C is
supposed to be placed at one of the mounting holes to fix the rest of the degrees of freedom
i.e. rotation around Z.

The 16 % rule tells us, that the surface is considered “good” if not more than 16 % of the
measured parameter values exceed the fixed maximum value, in our case it is 0.4um.

If we want to have the surface without defects, then we have to add at the drawing SIMn=0,
which specifies number of allowed defects to 0.

Task 2.

1.I created pre alignment and also the alignment by the geometric elements since I can see the
relevance due to the mounting purpose of the part. The most important is alignment to the A, then
to the B and at the end to the C.
