GOM Inspect – Assignment

1. Generate a data color map that displays areas within +/- 0.06 using green/red for pass/fail.

As it can be seen at the figures above one side of the part failed the inspection. It can result
in the misalignment, while the part is situated at the top of the other one.

2. Measure main dimensions on the part

 Two methods were used to define dimensions. The first one was related to Inspect, where
diameters of all of the cylinders could be defined.

As a second method for the linear distances between two points, it was convenient to use
callipers.
 3.Define datums and inspect the shown parameters.

Three datum systems were created to fulfil the requirements for controls, for example if a
parameter depended only on A, the Datum A was used and so on.

Moreover, the controls were created.

Position for bigger cylinder

The value lies within tolerance zone.

Position for smaller cylinder

The value is not within tolerance zone.

Perpendicularity of the right side of the part

The value stays within tolerance zone.

Flatness of surface A
The value stays within the tolerance zone.
