ODYSSEY
Odysseus is asked to fight in the Trojan War by Menelaus, the
King of Sparta.

Odysseus, would you


join us in fighting in the
Trojan War?

Why, of course I would!


Odysseus, I will miss


you so much while
you are gone.

Just as I will miss you


my dear Penelope,
and our baby.

After agreeing, Odysseus boards a


ship, leaving behind Ithaka and his
pregnant wife, who is soon to deliver
their son, Telemakhos.
On Odysseus and his men's journey the stumble upon Kyclops island,
which as you could imagine, a Kyclops lived. He trapped them in his
cave and sealed the door with a heavy stone, but Odysseus was able to
outsmart him. And although he lost a few men in the process, ended up
escaping, and then continued on his journey.
After leaving Kyclops Island Odysseus and his men go through many
trials and tribulations, one of which was when Odysseus was captured
for seven years by a nymph named Kalypso. Sheoffers him the gift of
immortality to stay longer, but he refuses. He no longer has a way of
transportation so he attempts to build a raft. This raft gets destroyed by
the waves, but one of the goddesses offers him a sash to help him
swim.

But Odysseus, if
you stay you will No way!
be immortal!
After just about twenty
years of constant attack Dad?!
from various forces,
Odysseus makes his way
back to Ithaka. He is able
to meet his son for the
first time, but realizes that
suitors are after his wife!

Athena turns Odysseus into


an old man so he may take
the form of a beggar. By
doing this, he can get to the
suitors and kill them so that
he may get back his wife.
And that is just what he
does.
Odysseus gets back his kingdom, Ithaka, his wife,
Penelope, and his son, Telemakhos.
