Football at the 1992 Summer Olympics

The football competition at the 1992 Summer Olympics was the first
Olympic football tournament dedicated for under-23 teams. The
1992 Men's Olympic
competition featured 16 men's national sides from the six continental Football Tournament
confederations. The 16 teams were drawn into four groups of four Tournament details
and each group played a round-robin tournament. At the end of the
Host country Spain
group stage, the top two teams advanced to the knockout stage,
beginning with the quarter-finals and culminating with the gold Dates 24 July – 8
medal match at Camp Nou on 8 August 1992.[1] August

Notably, these were the first matches played with football's new Champions  Spain
back-pass rule[2] and was the last Olympic football competition (1st title)
which was open to men only before the introduction of a women’s Runners-up  Poland
tournament four years later.
