The scene opens in a ship in the middle of a storm at sea. Orders

sailors-to try preventing a shipwreck. As some characters entered
the scene, Alonso, Antonio, Gonzalo, came along looking for the

something they can do to calm the rough waters, they should really
just get out the way and go back to their cabins and accept the fact
that their lives may or may not end. So they left the scene, except
for Gonzalo.
CHAPTER ACT 1, SCENE 1

SETTING SUMMARY (2)

On a ship at sea. A storm with

lightening and thunder.
Gonzalo says that he feels better talking to this man because he looks like
he's meant to be hanged, not drowned. If he is destined to be hanged,
that destined rope would do the ship better than all the ones it already
has. But if he wasn't destined to die that way, then their chances of
surviving the shipwreck won't look too good...
As the boatswain gave more orders, Sebastian, Antonio and Gonzalo
came by him again. Annoyed, he asked why did they return. Did they want
to die? Were they ready to drown? Sebastian and Antonio cursed him for
saying this, and Antonio said that the boatswain was more afraid of
drowning than they were. Gonzalo claims he guarantees he won't drown,
even though the ship wasn't very strong.
