“My Gender Identity”

Based on Science, my sexuality is female. I had a physical structure as a girl since birth, so I am being
categorized as a Female. If gender identity were based on physical body structure, all of us would be classified
only as Boys and Girls. If the gender identity was being identified on what you feel, that’s where the LGBTQ+
will enter.

Since I was a child, I have loved playing with Barbies and other girls’ toys. It is normal to play with
girls’ toys since I am a female, so there is no problem. But as I grew up, at the age of 16, to be specific, I started
to doubt my own gender identity. It is normal to be confused, especially when you have different kinds of
friends that are part of the LGBTQ+ community. I execute that thought of mine and believe that I am a girl even
though I do have a girl crush for almost three years, but I ended up labeling it as an “Idol” to define the word
“crush.”

At 17, I was a senior high school student, and things started to confuse my self-being. I have a friend
who is gay, and I think it gives me the influence to understand myself. He helps me to oust myself. I found
myself to be attracted to both men and women. Bisexual, that is what my gender identity was called. Only a few
friends know about my gender since I don’t have enough confidence to tell my parents about myself. But still, I
am okay to identify my pronoun as a ‘She/her.’

Sexual intercourse is normal and not supposed to be done by force. Just like Dawn Chang said “There is
nothing wrong with sex. Want and desire are part of normal sexual behavior.” and she also stated “Sex is part
of life. Teach young children how to protect themselves instead of telling them NOT to have sex at all.” I
strongly agree with Dawn Chang's statement since we are in this generation where the youth is more open-
minded than the past generation. Boomers should execute the crab mentality in their system. As of today's era,
we are more open to things like this. I do have fantasies and drives but I prefer to not share it.
