Class exercise 1

1.Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) – drawn practical and scholarly attention as a significant player
to provide alternatives to current social and economic problems and attain sustainable  social and
economic development. SSE’s value-orientation, which prioritizes human social  objectives to capital
profit maximization in economic activities.

Decent Work- is one of the  primary orientations of SSE practices in Korea as it was born out of the
context of economic downturn and consequent negative social impacts, including issues of
unemployment and work  decency.

Social Inclusion- “the process of improving the ability, opportunity, and dignity of
people, disadvantaged on the basis of their identity, to take part in society”
Social Empowerment- Having ownership of the company and experiencing democratize
decision-making process empower workers as responsible economic actors. Small producers,
consumers, and workers can secure their rights to work, improve their economic status, and
pursue collective benefits by forming cooperatives.

2. In what way do you think social (employee) empowerment and social inclusion, through
decent work, can help the business achieve its goals? 
-It can help the business to achieve goals by simply implementing these kinds of ways in a
business or enterprise that by encouraging the employee they can productively work and have
a best workplace, by having the social inclusion it would help you by improving each employee
by their ability, what opportunity they may have that could help you also and the dignity of
them and lastly, having a decent work promoted in your business it will help your employee get
a work that is productive and delivers a fair income, security in the workplace and social
protection for families, better prospects for personal development and social integration that
will make you achieve your business goals.

3. As a future entrepreneur, how are you going to promote decent work in your business
enterprise? Please provide concrete and specific programs.
-As a future entrepreneur I will be promoting the decent work by encouraging and promoting
effective public, public-private and civil society partnerships, building on the experience and
resourcing strategies of partnerships.
