ALTERNATE BATCH 2022

STARTS ON
14TH NOVEMBER
www.shankariasacademy.com | www.iasparliament.com

Managing your time without

setting priorities is like
shooting randomly & calling
whatever you hit the target.
The biggest challenge in preparing for the civil services examination is
creating an effective plan for an entire year of preparation. One that's
meticulous, coherent and effective in putting your preparation on the
right track for the whole duration.

Without such plan:

You end up going in circles.

Doing the subjects you are comfortable with again and again,
neglecting the ones you don’t like.

Starting a topic and leaving it half way through.

Constantly changing plans based on every new strategy

you come across, etc.

Mainstorming 2022
www.shankariasacademy.com | www.iasparliament.com

Over the years we have realized no

two students have the same journey,
same circumstances, same optionals
or the same pace of learning.
Some of you have been writing prelims multiple times over the
years, some of you are working and juggling your aspirations and
professional life, some of you are home makers aspiring to stake
a claim on your biggest life goal, some of you are yet to complete
your graduation, some have completed extensive foundation
programs, and some are back from a break that you took after
appearing for the exams previously.

Even though your journeys are not similar, the many challenges
you face in the course of your preparation are common ones,
created due to the lack of a smart preparation strategy. Some
of you don't have a plan, don't have an organised preparation
strategy, you don't know whether you are on the right track or
not due to absence of mentors to speak to, whether there's
credible progress in your understanding of the syllabus, or even
if the sources you use to study the topics are updated and
relevant. Being short of time , there is no avenue to counter any
of these problems through trial and error so as to come up with
your own unique approach to crack this exam.

Mainstorming 2022
www.shankariasacademy.com | www.iasparliament.com

Failing to plan is planning

to Fail.
One common practice we have noticed among students who have
secured a coveted rank in the civil service examination is that they don't
fail to plan and hence succeed. When most of you spend endless hours
and days calculating scores and contemplating cutoffs, they start their
preparation. They start revising their well crafted notes, decide on a
schedule for a test plan, make a timetable and judiciously stick to it.

Mainstorming 2021 is an innovative approach to ensure that your

preparation is on track, and you achieve incremental improvement
from test to test, integrate mains preparation with Preliminary exam etc.

We have designed a plan that

ensures that you will complete the
syllabus for both mains and
preliminary perspective multiple
times before the actual
examination.

Mainstorming 2022

So Why Should You

Enrol For This Program?
Apart from preparing content for common portions in the
syllabus, the mains exam poses certain inherent challenges
too. All candidates who attempt answer writing never face the
same set of challenges. If one of you finds it difficult to
understand the demand of the question, another might have
an issue in prioritising what content to write for each question,
and yet another candidate might have an issue with the lack
of speed for finishing the whole paper in the given 3 hours.
Hence the solution to each of your problems is related to your
existing writing style and approach. This is where our detailed
evaluation and mentorship will help you to identify your
problem and develop a strategy to solve the problem in a time
bound manner.

Focus on the Process,

Success will Follow

Mainstorming 2022

What is a process and

Why is it Important ?
Every time you meet a topper or a successful candidate most
people ask “ what did you do to get where you got ? How did
you get to this ? What was your process ?” A systematic
process gives your ambition a solid plan. It defines the tasks
that you need to do in sequence, so as to fulfill a necessary
objective

The schedule of most aspirants will include reading

newspapers for 2-3 hours, making notes out of them for 1-2
hours and then spending the remaining time going through
the syllabus. This approach gives you a feeling of doing a lot
of things yet not producing any tangible results while solving
tests or writing answers.

Our endeavour through Mainstorming 2022 is to give you a

process, one that is meticulous, detailed and achievable. We
will be attaching a worksheet that breaks down your test plan
(schedule) into quantifiable tasks that need to be achieved
before you move on to the next test.

Mainstorming 2022
www.shankariasacademy.com | www.iasparliament.com

The sheet will be downloadable and editable, which helps you

customise as per your need and share it with your mentors as
and when needed. The sheet will clearly define the weightage
of the subject area based on last 5 years CSE Mains, clearly
emphasising the importance and the volume of time you
need to assign for the same.

The Tasks Include

Mainstorming 2022

Once you have identified the tasks that need to be completed in

your course of preparation, you can clearly establish the resources
you need to achieve the same. How much time you need for each
subject area, what books you require etc. This will in turn help you
set the environment required to achieve these tasks.
If you can meticulously complete the above 5 tasks for each
syllabus area within the given time frame, it will make significant
improvements to your level of preparation.

It's famously said that “Change is not an event but a process”. Get
your process right through Mainstorming and you will see a positive
change in the outcome.

A Good Process
