Colonial Mentality:
Filipino Products that is barely patronized with today’s generation.

1). Bakya
-A handcraft slipper that is made out of wood and is strapped with rubber on the top to be
wearable.
Counterpart: Rubber Slippers
2). Palo-palo
-A piece of wood that is used to slap clothes while washing it with soap to cleanse it more
as it is a solid object.
Counterpart: Washing Machines
3). Kaeng
-A basket made out of rattan (a flexible kind of wood) that is usually used in farms and
shopping to local markets.
Counterpart: Carbon fiber baskets or fabric bags.
4). Kalan de-uleng
-A cooking pot that is powered by charcoal and fire.
Counterparts: Cooking is usually with gas and electricity nowadays.
5). Plantsa de-uleng
-Another charcoal powered product but instead this is used to iron clothes back in the
day, instead of electricity, charcoal that is recently placed in fire is stored inside the fabric Iron.
