A teacher should, at all times, abide in the State’s policies, enforce them and exercise
rights laid therein. He/she should devote himself/herself to duty, refrain from using the
profession’s authority for ill-purpose intentions, be healthy in all aspects, promote
cultural and educational heritage of the nation and shall enjoy academic freedom.

A teacher should always render the best service and provide an environment conducive
to learning, lead and participate in community movements and refrain from having
vices. He/she should consider the community in all his doings and acknowledge its
tradition and beliefs, promulgate right information about the school’s progress,
maintain harmony to all and he/she shall have the right to practice his beliefs excluding
to influence others to proselyte.

IV
A teacher should take and exude pride in for his/her profession, ensure high quality
teaching and learning, expand his/her knowledge unceasingly, should not misrepresent
the school for personal gains but instead dignify the profession as a descent means of
living.

A teacher should always professionally work for the common good, give courtesy to the
work of others when used, completely organize the data for anyone who carries on the
work before leaving, treat the school’s data confidentially, seek correctives for conduct
improvement, formally submit complaints to authorities if there are, and he/she has the
right to apply for vacant positions given that possesses the qualifications.

VI
A teacher should always support the policies of the school, should not make baseless
accusations, should make legal and official transactions pass all through channels except
necessary. A teacher also has the right for redress against injustice, to invoke principles
and is knowledgeable of the responsibilities of his/her position.

VII
All school officials shall establish a professional relationship with their colleagues, be
involve in policy creation and instigation of change and recognize professional growth of
all teachers. School officials should not dismiss subordinates except reasonable and
should ensure that teachers are employed based on the regulations thereof.

VIII
The teacher has the right to assess his/her learners through due evaluation process.
He/she shall acknowledge the interests and treat every student with fairness. No bribe
in any form to be acknowledged by the teacher. The teacher should not disclose any
affection to and towards learners. The use of corporal punishment and deductions is
strictly prohibited as sanctions. The teacher should contribute to the learners’ maximum
development and extend help whenever needed.

IX
A teacher should promote a strong relationship with the parents. The teacher should
report on the progress of the students to their parents professionally and help whatever
is of need to improve learners’ development. He/she shall treat parents with fairness
and hear their complaints if there are, with sympathy.

X
The teacher has the freedom to engage in business given that it does not compromise
his/her job and should maintain his reputation in financial matters. He/she should not
engage in any financial matters out of personal motives.

XI
A teacher should live, at all times, with dignity whenever and wherever. He/she should
practice self-discipline and shall always maintain a dignified personality for learners to
see as a role model.
