Frozen style, also known as fixed speech, is
employed in most formal communicative situations.
This speech style utilizes complex grammatical
structure and vocabulary and functions to be
remembered in very formal settings. This style
involves a large group of people whose members
are known to one another. Nevertheless, the
listeners are not permitted to ask question to the
speakers.

Formal style is used when speaking in formal
settings. This speech style is expected to be
presented in complete, well- structured, logically
sequenced, and strongly coherent sentences. It does
not allow ellipsis, contractions, qualifying modal
adverbials. Another characteristic of formal style is
the use of a lot of Latinisms- sentence structures that
are very similar to Latin but not considered natural
English.
