Education

Education is a perfecting process through which man earns his spiritual, intellectual
and physical maturity of his being. At birth, man is born helpless and must cry out
to get the help he needs. After a year or so he can stand on his feet and walk a little;
at about fifteen years he is expected to have understood the difference between good
and evil, the beneficial and the harmful, but his intellectual and spiritual perfection
will take him all the life he has.

The future of a nation depends on its present youth. Any people who would like to
guarantee their future cannot be indifferent to the education of their young. To this
end, the family, school, and community should cooperate. The school must strive
for perfection regarding the curriculum it offers, as well as the academic and moral
standards of its teachers. Also, a family must provide the necessary warmth and
quality of atmosphere in which the children are received and grow up.

Education and Poverty Reduction

There are several ways in which education can help reduce poverty. First, education
gives people critical skills and tools to help them better provide for themselves and
their children. Second, education helps people work better and can create
opportunities for sustainable and viable economic growth now and into the future.
Third, education helps fight the spread of HIV/AIDS and other diseases, reduces
mother and child mortality and helps improve health. And last of all, good education
can encourage transparency, good governance, stability and helps fight against
corruption especially in developing countries. The impact of investment in
education is thus profound. In fact, education results in raising income, improving
health, promoting gender equality, mitigating climate change, and reducing poverty.
With improved education, so many other areas are positively affected. In short,
education has the power to make the world a better place.
