Listen to the audio and practice the following dialogue with a partner!
Matt : Excuse me. Could you hand me the newspaper, please?
Jess : Sure. Here it is.
Matt : Thanks a lot. That’s really kind of you.
Jess : No worries.
Matt : By the way, I’m Matt. What is your name?
Jess : My name is Jess. How do you do?
Matt : I’m fine. Say, are you from America?
Jess : No, I’m not. I’m from Canada. How about you? Where are you from?
Matt : I am from Australia. Do you like reading the newspaper?
Jess : Yes, I do. I like reading a lot. Anyway, I also like some sports.
Matt : Really? What kind of sports do you like?
Jess : I like jogging and playing tennis. What about you? What hobbies do you have
besides reading the newspaper?
Matt : I like playing badminton.
Jess : Cool. Well, it’s really nice to meet you. But I have to go. See you next
time. Matt : Nice to meet you too. Alright, see you.
