1). Discuss the limitations of memory management schemes

in early systems. What were the most
problematic
aspects of these schemes? Why were they sufficient
for the first three generations of
computers?

2). Discuss the compaction process. How

ANSWER 1:

Here are the limitations of memory management schemes:

• Single-User Contiguous Scheme

• Fixed Partitions

• Dynamic Partitions

• Deallocation

• Relocatable Dynamic Partitions

They were the most problematic parts of these plans in light of

the fact that each program stacked
completely into memory and
assigned as a lot of contiguous memory space varying. On the off
chance
that the program was excessively enormous, at that point it
couldn't be executed.

They were adequate for the initial three ages of PCs in light of
the fact that an insignificant measure of
work done by Memory
Manager.

ANSWER 2:
The more compaction there is, the more overhead processing is
happening and on the off chance that it
holds a lot of need, you
could wind up with the processor investing an excessive amount of
energy
compacting and less time processing the jobs.

The advantages of compaction of memory are that there will be

more memory accessible as the squares
are moved together to utilize
the memory.

The disadvantage of more compaction is that compaction is an

overhead process that happens while
every single other movement
looking out for its fruition.
