Background of the study

Modular learning is a form of distance learning that employs isa aform of distance
learning that employs the use of self-learning modules. These self-learning modules are
based on the most essential learning competences (MELCS) provided by Dep Ed.

According to Malaya 2020), Modular Distance Learning features individualized
instruction that allows leaners to use self-learning modules (SLMS) in print or digital
format electronic copy, whichever is applicable to the learner. Learners under modular
learning can also use other resources such us Learner’s Material, textbooks, activity,
and other study materials.
The teacher takes the responsibility of monitoring the progress of the leaners. If
possible, they will conduct home visits to check on each student’s progress and
performance.
