RELEVANCE TO
CHRISTIAN FAITH
CONSPIRACY
AGAINST JESUS
...
Based on John’s account, some of those
who witnessed the great miracle of
raising Lazarus from the dead went to
the members of the Sanhedrin, and
reported the incident.
PLOT TO KILL JESUS
So the chief priest, and the
Pharisees convened the
Sanhedrin and said:
“What are we going to do?”
The man is performing many
signs, many will believe him,
the Romans will come
and will take away our land and
our nation.

Caiaphas said,
“… it is better for you that
one man should die
instead of the people.

claim as Messiah
Mark 14:61-63 Again the high

“Are you the Messiah, the Son of
the Blessed One?” Then Jesus
answered, “I am.”
RESPONSE TO
T H E RELIGIOUS
ACCUSATIONS
What are the
counter-arguments
to the religious
accusations?
Jesus replied to this by saying that the
Law must be at the service of the
welfare and greatest good of man.
Not man be enslaved by Law.

1st Sabbath Observance:

What Jesus meant of the destruction
was not physical alluded to his
body as the temple - anticipation
of this passion and death, rebuilt
though his resurrection.

2nd Destruction of the Temple:

Jesus once said: “Those who are well
do not need a physician, but the sick
do. I do not come to call the
righteous but sinners. (Mark 2:17)

3rd Association with Sinners:

Jesus went beyond the trap of
legalism and mere adherence to
the law. It should serve the greatest
benefit of man.

4th Interpretation of Jewish Law:

Discriminated the Gentile and
the sick by labelling them
as unclean and rendering
them as ritually impure.
Jesus spoke to LAW ON
them
Jesus spent time
PURITY
with them

Jesus touched them

Jesus healed them and

iberated them from the
bondage of social
udgment.
Jewish rabbi derived their authority
from their former rabbi, or from TORAH
while Jesus rooted his authority from
his intimate relationship with his
Father, his Abba.

5th Jesus’ Source of Authority:

Perhaps the greatest reason that
angered the authorities against Jesus
was the idea that he was the long-
awaited Messiah.

6th Accusation of Blasphemy:

According to scholars, during his
lifetime, Jesus did not explicitly and
publicly claimed that he is the
Messiah.

6th Accusation of Blasphemy:

Rather, it was a shared, divinely
revealed conviction and declaration
by the evangelists which was
discovered AFTER Jesus Resurrection .

6th Accusation of Blasphemy:

Throughout his ministry, Jesus did not
go to places and declared himself to
be the savior of all.

6th Accusation of Blasphemy:

Mark portrayed Jesus as forbidding
the disciples from spreading the word
that he is the Messiah in order to avoid
confusion and misconception about
his identity. (Mark 8:10)

6th Accusation of Blasphemy:
