Change in HR practices to increase utilization of general wellness

benefits during Covid-19.


Introduction:

With the pandemic outbreak, many employers were scrambling to create a Work From Home
plan to create a safe working environment. This meant they had to make plans to boost their
health and wellness benefit schemes either through additional promotion or Increased
investment into the schemes. Due to the extra stress and hostile conditions, many employees
have actually started using these benefits in terms of the therapy and counselling sessions and
benefits in non-employee insurance policies, which they generally ignored in the pre-covid
era.

Problem statement:

To identify the level of increase in the utilization of the general wellness benefits offered by a
company during covid-19 and before covid-19 and to relate it with an increase In employee
productivity and mental satisfaction.

Methodology: 

The primary data will be collected from working professionals and ex-professionals of
various industries like FMCG, Healthcare, IT, and banking by conducting a comprehensive
survey to analyze their awareness and utilization of the general wellness benefits offered by
the company pre-covid and post-covid. This sample will be collected through a questionnaire,
and convenience sampling focusing on industry, position in the company, method of
working, Effect of Covid-19, benefits offered, level of awareness.
Secondary research about wellness benefits offered and their utilization pre-covid will be
done through published articles and reviews on websites like Glassdoor and Mingle.
Statistical analysis of the sample will be done through statistical methods like correlation and
regression and average with MS excel as a statistical tool.

Learning Outcomes:

 The level of increase in the utilization of company-provided health and wellness


benefits Post covid 19.
 Change in the necessity of employees to use the benefits compared to the pre-covid
scenario.
 HR efforts and initiatives to improve the usage of the health and wellness benefits
offered.
 Changes in Benefits offered in Healthcare, Mental wellbeing, insurance, working
conditions by the company During Covid scenario.
 The level of increase in Mental satisfaction and employee productivity post the
increased usage of the benefits.
