SDG Goal 3:- Good health and wellbeing (PLP 12)

Write-up

In today's health and social care system, health and well-being are a top focus. Health is more than
just the absence of illness and disability; it is a condition of total physical, mental, and social well-
being. A healthy lifestyle necessitates a strong commitment; we've gone a long way, but there's still
a long way to go. Real progress is made when universal health goals are met.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle became exceedingly difficult during the Pandemic. At this time,
ensuring a healthy life and fostering well-being is critical to long-term growth.

Introduction to Problem

Things have not been the same since the outbreak of Covid 19. Migrants be it domestic or
international have suffered in one way or the other.

The main thing that has been impacted is the health and well being of these people. Finding there
“Staple Food” has always been the biggest concern for migrant workers.

As we all know the food which is being prepared by the street food vendors is not healthy and the
food which is provided by the luxurious outlet is not cheap. People have also lost their jobs, going
through financial crisis are not able to support their family and meet there daily expenses, which is
again affecting their health and wellbeing.

However, this does not imply that 600 million Indians would be crisscrossing the country in 2020.
Because the majority of India's internal migration occurs inside a single district, this is the case.
Within their own region, an estimated 400 million Indians "move." The following 140 million people
move from one district to the next, all while remaining in the same state. Only approximately 60
million people — or roughly 10% of all internal migrants — migrate from one state to the next.
Segment of Population we are targeting

We are targeting the internal migrants of the country as well as international migrants, aging
between 16 – 35 years. Both the genders have equally been affected.

People whom we interacted

We have interacted with migrants who are living near our houses. They were not getting the desired
“Staple Food”. Due to Covid they were not able to meet their daily needs which has impacted there
health and wellbeing.

Sources of Information

The information we gathered is from a website called (CENSUS OF INDIA: MIGRATION)
