Escaping The Dead

Cast
Narrator – Gives context as to the situation that the main
characters are in.
Zach – Is one of the main character, Ex army soldier, best
friends with Amy
Amy – Is one of the main characters, Ex Nurse, Best friends
with Zach.
Survivors – Other people that have survived the apocalypse,
who help the main characters at the end.
Escaping The Dead

SCENE ONE: INT ABONDONED HOUSE – AFTERNOON

NARRATOR: The year was 2052, A zombie


apocalypse had struck the Earth...
only a few had survived.

MUSIC: Dark and Ominous

SOUND EFFECT: ZOMBIE SCREECH IN THE DISTANCE

ZACH: Have we got enough supplies to last


at least the next 3 days?

AMY: Should do. We are running low on food


so we're going to have to ration
until we get back to the compound.

ZACH: That’s ok the journey is not that


long it is just in case something goes
wrong.

SOUND EFFECT: ZOMBIES BANGING ON DOOR


ZACH: Shit, they’re right outside. We’re
Going to have to find another way
Out the front door is blocked.

AMY: I think I saw a back door when we came


In.

ZACH: Ok get the bags and guns and let's


leave before even more come.

SOUND EFFECT: BACKPACKS BEING PICKED UP AND PUT ON

SOUND EFFECT: GUNS BEING LOADED

SOUND EFFECT: FOOTSTEPS IN BOOTS WALKING DOWN STAIRS

AMY: It should be right down this corridor

ZACH: Ok open it slowly

SOUND EFFECT: DOOR SLOWLY OPENING

SOUND EFFECT: ZOMBIES SCREAMING AND BANGING

AMY: Holy Shit

ZACH: Close It! Close it!

SOUND EFFECT: DOOR SLAMS SHUT

ZACH: We’re going to have to go out a window.


AMY: Look over here

SOUND EFFECT: WINDOW OPENING, PEOPLE CLIMBING OUT OF


WINDOW

ZACH: Ok come this way, be really quite.

SOUND EFFECT: FOOTSTEPS ON GRAVEL

ZACH: The woods is just over there.

SOUND EFFECT: FOOTSTEPS

ZACH: Over there, behind those trees, can you


see. It only looks like there’s one of
them.

SOUND EFFECT: ZOMBIE SCREECH

AMY: Yeah, I see it, should we just try sneak


if we shoot more are bound to come.

ZACH: Yeah, we’re going to have to.

SOUND EFFECT: ZOMBIE SNARLES

ZACH: Shit look the zombie saw us.

SOUND EFFECT: GUN SHOT


ZACH: What are you doing we said stay quite!

AMY: We would have had to it anyway.

SOUND EFFECT: ZOMBIE SCREAMS AND FOOTSTEPS

ZACH: This is why I said don’t shoot!


Quick run come on.

SOUND EFFECT: RUNNING ON GRAVEL

AMY: They’re catching us!

ZACH: Keep going I’ll try hold them off

SOUND EFFECT: CONTINOUS GUN FIRE, ZOMBIES SCREACHING

AMY: Zach run! (Shout)

SOUND EFFECTS: GUNFIRE STOPS AND RUNNING FOOTSTEPS CAN BE


HEARD

ZACH: I think we’ve lost them.

AMY: It’s almost dark we better find somewhere to


Sleep.

ZACH: There’s a watch tower over lets go to the top


And set up there for the night.
SOUND EFFECTS: WALKING UP STAIRS

ZACH: I’ll keep watch during the night


You get some sleep.

AMY: OK

SOUND EFFECT: CRICKETS CHIRPING

ZACH: (sighs)

SOUND EFFECT: BANGING AND GROWLING

ZACH: Shit the found us, Amy wake up quick


Get the stuff we’re going to have to
Climb off the edge and jump.

SOUND EFFECTS: GUN SHOTS AND SCRAMBLING SOUNDS

SOUND EFFECTS: SOUND EFFECTS CLIMBING SOUNDS THUD AND


RUNNING

SOUND EFFECTS: OUT OF BREATH

AMY: The compound shouldn’t be far from here


Now.

ZACH: Isn’t that it just over there


AMY: Yes! Come on!

SOUND EFFECTS: RUNNING

SURVIVORS: You made it!
