GURUGRAM METROPOLITAN CITY BUS LIMITED

PRESS NOTE
Launch of Gurugaman City Bus Card
Cashless Ticket Option starts from September 27, 2018

To provide more convenience to commuters in Gurugram, the Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited
(GMCBL), is launching on Thursday, September 27, 2018, the Gurugaman City Bus Card service- a
cashless ticket option for City Bus travelers. The notable Divisional Commissioner of Gurugram, Dr. D
Suresh, IAS, will launch the Digital Gurugaman Card at Huda City Centre at 3.00 p.m., amid a host of
officials.

The Gurugaman Travel Card can be used for cashless journeys on City Buses starting from September 27,
2018. The Gurugaman Card is a Contactless Smart Card that can be used to purchase on-board bus
journey tickets by commuters. Every card has a unique 12 digit number engraved on the face of the
card.

The most beneficial aspect of the digital Card is that commuters can enjoy a discount of Rs 2 on every
journey they take on the Gurugaman bus. In effect, the cumulative discount for every 4 journeys will be
equal to one free journey. The digital card will be available to commuters at no extra cost and no
security deposit is required for it. The card will be valid for one year from the date of issuance/last
recharge. No refund is permissible.

With the Gurugaman City Bus Card, travel cost for commuters will come down and the minimum and
maximum fare for Non-AC Bus shall be respectively, Rs. 8 and Rs. 28 only. Thus, the fare up to first 5 bus
stops will be: Rs 8; up to next 15 bus stops: Rs 18; and for more than 20 bus stops: Rs 28/ only.

The functioning of the card will be such that the fare will be deducted from the card when commuters
buy tickets on the bus and they will be provided a receipt by the Customer Service Agents (CSAs) present
on the bus. Commuters shall also be sent an SMS confirming the transaction and resultant balance –
subject to correct mobile number availability. Having these cards will be advantageous to commuters as
these cards are transferable and can be used to buy tickets for multiple journeys and multiple
commuters.

The minimum recharge value at the time of purchase of a new card would be Rs 50/. Subsequent
recharge of the card can be done at notified bus stops with a minimum value of Rs. 30/- and maximum
up to Rs. 1500. To check balance amount on the Card, commuters can utilize the Electronic Ticket
Machines available with the Customer Service Agents (CSAs) on all GMCBL buses. The Card does not
expire unless notified.
