Short description of positions:
The sheriff is responsible for dealing punishment and making sure the prince’s laws are followed.
They can carry out sentences, given the prince or the prince region doesn’t object to his judgment.
The sheriff must act in accordance with the laws set by the prince. The prince or prince region is
always allowed to overrule the sheriff if they so see fit without giving explanation to the sheriff or
anyone else. However, there are a few things only the prince can authorise including but not limited
to: Leaving the city, blood hunts and recruiting kindred in positions within the court. The sheriff is
responsible for personally informing the prince (not prince region) on everything that they know
including but not limited to suspects in cases, which cases they are currently working on, possible
convictions, giving of permissions to preform otherwise illegal activity and other information relating
to the sheriff position. If the prince asks the sheriff is not allowed to withhold information even on
sensitive matters regarding his position. If the sheriff proves unfit for the position for whatever
reason the prince will find a replacement.

The prince is the leader of the city. They oversee organizing hunting grounds, recruiting kindred into
the positions of Master of Elysium, princes harpie, sheriff, seneschal and hound. They are also
responsible for setting the rules of the city which all kindred are obligated to abide by. They also
decide what is to be done with the price the citizens pay for the hunting in the city with the help of
the seneschal. They are politically the highest but are obligated to listen to their fellow kindreds
complaints and wishes. They are however not obligated to act in accordance with them. With this
position the kindred bearing the title of prince has been trusted with the power to do the right thing
for the city and its habitants. The prince has the authority to overrule any law of the city and change
them at any time.

The seneschal are the princes right hand and the ruler of the city if the prince is not around. They
are responsible in assisting the them in the matters of court. If the seneschal proves unfit for the
position for whatever reason the prince will find a replacement.

The hound handles the security of the prince. They are also responsible for enforcing order and
assisting the prince. If the hound proves unfit for the position for whatever reason the prince will
find a replacement.

The harpies oversee keeping track of respected kindred within the society. They can raise and lower
a kindreds city status. Their giving and taking of status should be in accordance with actions and
position of a kindred within the society. Harpies are also obligated to write down boons and monitor
their usage. If a boon is not written down by a harpie they might be considered invalid. If the
princes/priscai harpie proves unfit for the position for whatever reason the prince/priscai will find a
replacement.

The Master of Elysium oversees the Elysium. He can hire kindred to act as Elysium keepers to help
maintain order within the Elysium. If the Master of the Elysium proves unfit for the position for
whatever reason the prince will find a replacement.

The Clean-up master is responsible for assisting kindred in covering up masquerade breaches. If they
proves unfit for the position for whatever reason the prince will find a replacement.
Kindred laws:

Hunting grounds & domains:

Luring a pray to a preferable spot within a hunting ground is permitted but luring a pray over to
another hunting grounds is illegal. This includes seduction, traps, using disciplines and similar tactics.
This will be punished with fangs being ripped out and forbidden to grow back for as many months as
the number of times the law was broken. If kindred repeatedly break the law more sever action may
be taken.

Kindred are not allowed to enter the hunting ground or domain of other kindred unless specially
invited. The sheriff, prince, seneschal and hound are excluded from this rule since due to the nature
of their positions must be able to travel freely. They are however not allowed to hunt anywhere but
at their designated hunting grounds. If a kindred witnesses another luring pray or unjustly feeding in
their territory they are obligated to inform the sheriff.

Access to a hunting ground isn’t free. The price can be negotiated with the prince. The standard
price is trivial boons equal to the number of kindred who have access to the hunting ground in
addition to one dot in resources regardless of the number of kindred. The boons are not bound to
individual kindred but to the group who currently has access to the hunting ground. If the kindred
change hunting grounds or leave the city the they still owe those boons as a group. The prince
oversees distributing the boons as they see fit. What is done with these boons will be documented
by the seneschal. The price for hunting grounds is to be paid every month.

Disciplines:
Kindred should not use discipline on fellow kindred unless:

 The kindred is being attacked by another kindred

Furthermore, using mental discipline is just as bad as using physical once, if not worse. Kindred have
a unique ability to heal flesh wounds but healing the mind can be much more difficult. Using mental
disciplines to influence kindred in high political positions such as the prince, sheriff, seneschal, or
harpy will be treated as a severe offence. Kindred who use disciplines unjustly on other kindred are
subjecting themselves to paying a minor boon at minimum for remaining in the city. If they refuse
they may either have their fangs ripped out or in severe cases be blood hunted.

Boons:
Boons are in short, a favour you owe to some one for whatever reason. Boons are not to be broken.
Punishment for breaking them will be as follows:

 First offence: All boons owed to the kindred will be invalid and they will be renounced a
boon breaker. They can remain in the city but cannot give or receive boons until they have
proven they can be trusted again.
 Second offence:
The kindred will no longer be allowed to remain in the city. All boons owed to the kindred
will be invalid and they will be renounced a boon breaker. They may come back after 50
years and seek an audience with the prince and plead their case of betterment.

In these cases, there should be held a trial to determine if the kindred truly have broken the boon or
not. The sheriff, prince are obligated to attend the hearing or else it is considered invalid.
Killing and masquerade breaches
All kindred are obligated to uphold the masquerade. If kindred break the masquerade they are
putting all kindred in the city at tremendous risk. These crimes are therefore considered among the
most serious. Kindred should not kill humans needlessly since it poses a threat to the masquerade
and is likely to draw unwanted attention towards them. Of course, many kindred choose to feed on
humans and that is allowed but needlessly attacking or killing humans is forbidden. Killing or injuring
a human is only allowed in the following conditions:

 They attacked you first and keep attacking you.

 You have gotten permission due to special circumstances from the sheriff.

If an interaction, between a kindred and a human poses a threat to the masquerade they are
obligated to report it to the sheriff weather the interaction was a conversation, a brutal murder or
anything in between. If kindred are unable to preserve the masquerade they are responsible to have
the Clean-up master do so. This will resort in the kindred owing a major boon to the office of the
prince and two minor once to the Clean-up master. By going to the Clean-up master, you are
agreeing to these terms. If the kindred are neither able to clean up after themselves nor the Clean-
up master can assist them due to either severity of the breach or they have not been talked to the
kindred will be considered a threat to the masquerade and will be blood hunted.

Ghouls and other property

A kindred should not damage or destroy the property of another kindred. This includes damage
done in frenzies. The punishment for this depends on the situation but in most cases the kindred will
pay for the damage they caused with their resources. The sheriff is in charge of settling this. Ghouls
are the property of their masters and should not be harmed by other kindred. The penalty for
injuring or killing a ghoul is more severe since they are not as easily replaced. Repeated offenders
will have more severe punishment. Furthermore, all kindred must register their ghoul at the
seneschal. Contacts, allies and others of that sort are in the eyes of the law also considered property
and should be registered by the seneschal.

Leaving the city

Leaving the city without permission from the prince is strictly forbidden. Kindred who leave the city
without permission are renouncing the city and the city will not take any responsibility for them
anymore. They are essentially on their own.

The Elysium
The Elysium is a save haven for kindred. It is illegal to feed within a mile of the Elysium and all
kindred must respect that.

Diablery
Diablery is strictly forbidden. A kindred who has committed diablery or intending to will be blood
hunted.
