Poland is a country distinguished by its solemnising of various Christian <holidays>

and Poles by their reverence of those holy days with dignity and full commitment. Among

such high days is All Saints’ Day that is perceived by the Polish people to be of paramount

importance. The Christian holiday of All Saints’ Day is a bank holiday that falls on November

1st and is dedicated to paying tribute and perpetuating the memory of the deceased. On that

day, people visit cemeteries to lay flowers, light candles on the graves of their loved ones and

pray for their souls. Nevertheless, before families huddle together at the graves of their

ancestors, they need to begin preparations at least a few days in advance.
