1. Subject/Focus
Both of the reading materials given focused on languages, notably English and the
imperfect use of English as a foreign language of the Filipino, "Why do They Say That
Our English is Bad" Focused on the Filipino students. The latter continue to make
blunders or errors whether speaking or writing in English. "Mother Tongue" focuses on a
mother and daughter connection in which the mother was described in the text as
having broken English while talking or dealing with others.

2. Purpose
The purpose of text A is to enlighten readers about the potential flaws or issues that
may impede students' ability to improve their English speaking and writing skills. The
purpose of text B, like that of text A, is to demonstrate, reach out to, or inform
individuals about how difficult it is to become a pretentious person to others. We don't
need to be ashamed of the language we use since, in the end, you should learn to
embrace your background to express yourself adequately.
3. Target Audience
The text A target is a readership that consists of students, teachers, and those people
in the Philippines who speak English as a foreign language. And the target audience of
text B is we can say that it is for those who have had similar experiences as the author
or for persons who readily critique, judge, or doubt their English proficiency.

4. Style
They both provided a structured idea and flow of discussion about the specific topic.
Text A used a formal style in producing the text, including appropriate and uncommon
terms and a more objective approach. Text B used a narrative technique in her text,
telling us a story and her own experiences to communicate successfully with her
readers.

5. Tone
They have both range of tones to express the information differently to be more
understood. And the author of Text A utilized formal style. Her writing has a more
professional manner. And text B has a negative but pleasant tone because it reflects on
Tan's mother's experience. It used a range of styles.

6. Organization
Descriptions and references are used in Text A to convey the author's intended
message to the audience. It is well-organized, including faulty grammar rules and an
appropriate writing style. While Text B was a story-like compilation of narratives about
her and her mother's English that was well-organized like text A and featured some
informal instances.
