The department of Electronics Engineering in collaboration with the Girls Grievance Cell organized a
webinar on “Know your rights & Laws” on 21/01/22 in online mode via Google meet. The Gender
champions commenced the webinar by welcoming the chief guest Mr. Rajesh Shukla and Dr.
Anshu Chaturvedi, Chairperson, Girls Grievance Cell. Followed by this, Mr. Rajesh Shukla
enlightened all the participants with his wisdom and explained need to know one’s rights and an
introduction detailing Fundamental rights, the concept of gender equality.
The objectives of the workshop in short are stated as follows:
Objectives to ensure:
 Defining the need to know one’s rights and an introduction detailing Fundamental rights, the
concept of gender equality.
 Equality – At Work and at Home which details the legal rights and framework for sexual
harassment, POCSO, Domestic Violence, Divorce, Alimony and Inheritance.
 Cyber safety which includes cyberstalking, bullying and how the law deals with it.
Outcomes
After attending the workshop it was expected that the participants will be able to
 The webinar highlighted the various legal rights Women have in our constitution through an
interactive presentation and activities. The sessions apprised the Women of the various
fundamentals rights bestowed upon them by the Indian constitution.
 It further educated the students on the latest acts and amendments around important rights
governing them e.g. Section 377A, the Criminal Law amendment and laws related to consent
and sexual harassment at workplace.
 The webinar also informed the women of laws regarding filing FIRs, arrest and detention and
cyber safety. The highly enriching and interactive webinar ended with everyone taking a
pledge to be an equality warrior and stand up for equality in mankind.
 The webinar not only inspired the women but also equipped them with the right legal tools so
that they don't hesitate from voicing their concerns.
