Some people spend their entire lives in one place.

Others move a number of times throughout their lives,

looking for a better job, house, community, or even climate.

There are those who enjoy staying in one place, whilst others move throughout their
lives, in order to find a better job, house, community, or even climate. In this essay I am
going to examine both sides of the issue. However, I would rather move to various
places to find what works best for me.

First of all, getting the best educational opportunities is one of the reasons why people
need to move to various locations. Small towns with a lack of facilities can’t offer much
for individuals keen to broaden the scope of their knowledge. They need highly
advanced laboratories to conduct their experiments, and they need to benefit from
various professors’ academic knowledge so that they can submit their articles. But living
in a stable place will not give them these valuable opportunities unless they try various
places to find their desirable place to study. To expatiate, along with finding the best
university to study, when I move to another place, I will encounter new people. Each
neighborhood comes with its distinct trait. Moving to new neighborhoods means
enjoying relationships with new people from different countries with various cultures,
outlooks, and beliefs. This would offer me the feeling of being part of a community,
which brings me with the comprehensive understanding of the world.

Besides the fact that moving to a bigger city is linked to the improvement of the
professional career, it also helps on the knowledge development. Larger cities offer
more opportunities to grow intellectually, not only because there are better schools and
universities but also because there is a larger amount of leisure activities that are “brain
developer”, such as museums, theater, libraries, concerts. For example, when I return to
my hometown, I usually spend the time going to restaurants or to my friend’s house
because there is not much other activity to do. In the contrary, at the capital I have
plenty of options of leisure and I use to spend my free time going to a jazz concert,
watching a new French movie on the cinema or a play in the theater that often discuss
about important social subject as racism, female power, environmental care, etc.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that is very positive to move to different places during a
lifetime. Besides opening many doors to a better professional career, it is also develops
the intellect and opens the mind.
