1 WHAT IS BLOOD MADE OF

Liquids and solids make up your blood. Plasma, the liquid
component, is made up of water, salts, and protein. Plasma
makes up more than half of your blood. Red blood cells,
white blood cells, and platelets make up the solid
component of your blood.

2 FUNCTION OF RBC
Our red blood cells are responsible for transporting oxygen
from our lungs to the rest of our body. Then they return,
carrying carbon dioxide back to our lungs, where it is
exhaled.

3 FUNCTION OF WBC
The white blood cell, also known as the leukocyte or white
corpuscle, is a cellular component of the blood that lacks
hemoglobin, has a nucleus, and protects the body against infection
and disease by consuming foreign materials and cellular waste, as
well as eliminating infectious agents and cancer cells.

4 FUNCTION OF PLATELETS
Platelets are little blood cells that assist your body stop
bleeding by forming clots. When a blood vessel in your body
is injured, it sends messages to your platelets. Platelets
rush to the damaged area and form a plug (clot) to stop the
bleeding.

5 HOW RBC CARRY OUT THEIR FUNCTION

They include hemoglobin, a crimson protein that binds to
oxygen and transports it across the body. They lack a
nucleus, allowing them to store more hemoglobin. They're
tiny and flexible, allowing them to pass through small blood
veins.

6 HOW WBC CARRY OUT THEIR FUNCTION

Adaptations - They have an irregular form that allows them
to squeeze out of blood vessels and reach the infection site.
Others have flowable cytoplasm, which allows the cell to
alter shape, approach, and ingest microorganisms.

WHAT IS TRANSPORTED IN PLASMA
Plasma transports water, minerals, and enzymes throughout the body.
Plasma's primary function is to transport nutrients, hormones, and
proteins to the regions of the body that require them. The waste
products of cells are also deposited in the plasma. All portions of the
blood are also carried through your circulatory system by blood plasma.
