2. - What is GBA Video?

==============================================================================

GBA Video is a little game pak that turns your GBA/SP/DS/Micro into a
VCR...sorta. Basically, it’s a video card that contains upwards of 45min
worth of good old TV (consisting mainly of animation) to watch to your hearts
content. These cartoons are all episodes from various popular anime (such as
Pokemon), American cartoons (such a Fairly Odd Parents) and even movies (such
as Shrek).

Please note that this guide isn't about the following:

GBA Video Player - a peripheral that allows the user to play movies and NES
games on the GBA/DS.

GBA Player - a GameCube peripheral that allows the user to play GBA games on
the GameCube.

==============================================================================

3. - How to use GBA Video

==============================================================================

1. First and foremost, put the video pak into your GBA/SP/DS/Micro and switch
it to the ‘On’ position.
2. For most of the GBA Video paks, the show should start right in. A few of
them will first take you to the menu. On the menu:

A Button - Start selected episode.

B Button - N/A
Start - N/A
Select - View Production Credits
L/R Buttons - N/A
D-Pad - Select episode/chapter.

During an episode:

A Button -
Brighten screen
B Button -
Darken screen
Start -
Pause
Select -
Return to the last menu you were one.
L/R Buttons -
Move forward/backward one chapter (20-25min episodes normally
have around 6 chapters)
D-Pad - Left - Fast Forward
- Right - Rewind
- Up - Lock Buttons* (hold for 3 seconds)

*Basically, it shuts all the other buttons off. Repeat the action to turn the
lock off.

==============================================================================

4. - GBA Video Volumes (sorted by series)

==============================================================================

6. - Q&A
==============================================================================

Q: Can GBA Video be played on GameBoy Player?

A: No. This is to prevent copyright infringement.

-Thanks to nightc1 (via e-mail) for confirming this.-

Q: Are there anymore GBA Video planned for release?

A: Yes, but most don't have a release date yet.

7/20/2007 - No, GBA Video has been abandoned for a little over a year now.
Q: Isn't it possible to put any show I want on a GBA Video card with a
Flash Card program/equipment?
A: Yes, but I don't recommend doing it. Aside from being illegal, the video
quality is absolute crap. Not to mention, the game is programmed
specifically to run whatever shows are already in it. Messing with that
could end up ruining the game.

Note: Do not e-mail me about Flash Card programs/equipment and I would

advise against asking about them on most gaming message boards. Just
search Google, you’ll find what you need.

Q: The episodes show up all raspy/lots of static/skips/[Enter other visual

problems here]. How can I fix this?
A: Try cleaning the cartridge. I can almost guarantee this will fix any
problems. I notice that these things are a bit more sensitive to dust
than your average GBA game.

Q: When I try to play the video, the screen goes black and freezes
up/Nothing happens when I turn my GBA/SP/DS on/ etc. What’s up?
A: After speaking with quite a few others who have had this problem, we have
come to the conclusion that it has to do with the battery charge of your
GBA. In other words, make sure your GBA has more than (about) a half-hours
worth of power.

Q: When will the movies be out?

A: Supposedly, sometime near Christmas 2005 (as this is a rumor, don’t
quote me).

Edit: See, didn't I say not to quote me? Looks like the GBA Movie idea has
been canned.

Q: Why do some episodes have that same episode and season number?
A: Most TV episodes are about 26 minutes long. So, the show is split up into
14 minute segments. Some of the GBA Video volumes have both segments from
the same episode.

Q: Will GBA Video work on the GBMicro?

A: Yes.

Q: What shows would you like to see on GBA Video?

A: The Danny Phantom movies would be nice.
