Bard: College of Dance

A young elf girl, alone in her room, practices the steps for her
next recital. A pair of orcs take the floor, swaying with the
gentleness and grace of the wind. Two lithe humans launch
whirling kicks around each other, deliberately missing each
other by inches—half dance, half war.
Dance is an art form that helps the practitioner master
both body and soul. Whether it's an elegant ballroom waltz or
a lively mambo, dance is a form of expression that connects a
person to their inner self. Bards that adhere to the College of
Dance learn to harness this energy to assist their allies and
confound their enemies in battle.
Power of Dance
Starting at 3rd level, you weave magic into your every move.
When a spell requires a verbal component, you can perform a
somatic component for it instead. If the spell already requires
a somatic component, you can simply ignore the verbal
component.
Bolero of Rest
At 3rd level, you can spend part of your downtime dancing for
others' merriment. When you perform your Song of Rest, you
can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration. When you do
so, all creatures that benefit from the Song of Rest can roll
one additional die when determining the extra hit points they
regain.
Dance Style
Also at 3rd level, you gain access to one of the following
dance styles of your choice.
Elusive Allegro
You apply your knowledge of dance in combat to make your
movements deliberately erratic and evasive. While you are
moving, attack rolls against you are made at disadvantage.
Fine Floorwork
You have practiced a style of dance that focuses on keeping a
low center of gravity. You gain the following benefits.
Standing up from being prone requires only 5 feet of
movement.
Being prone does not impose disadvantage on attack rolls
you make.
Being prone does not grant advantage on attack rolls
against you while the attacker is within 5 feet of you.

Quickstep

At 6th level, your dance training has quickened your general

pace. Your base movement speed increases by 10 feet.

Dance Style

Also at 6th level, you gain access to one of the following

dance styles of your choice.

Fire Dance

You learn to incorporate whirling flames in your act. You

know the spell hellish rebuke and can cast it at will, without

expending a spell slot.

You can also cast this spell using spell slots you have of the

appropriate level. The spell counts as a bard spell for you, but

doesn't count against the number of bard spells you know.

In addition, whenever you cast a spell that deals fire

damage, you gain a bonus to that fire damage. The bonus is

equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of 1).

Sweeping Rasteira

You've studied a martial maneuver that can help you protect

yourself and your friends. When a hostile creature enters a

space within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to

attempt to trip it.

You make a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check contested by the

target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check

(the target chooses the ability to use). If you win the contest,

the creature falls prone.

You cannot attempt this maneuver on a creature more than

one size larger than you, or a creature which has no legs.

Evasion

At 14th level, you have sharpened your reflexes to perfection.

When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a

Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead

take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only

half damage if you fail.

Dance Style

Also at 14th level, you gain access to one of the following

dance styles of your choice.

Flamenco of Life

You have elevated your Song of Rest routine to perfection.

Whenever you perform a Song of Rest, all creatures that

benefit from it can take the maximum result on any dice used

when determining the extra hit points they regain.

Lead and Follow

With your deft maneuvers and remarkable poise, you set an

example for your allies. Whenever a creature rolls one of your

Bardic Inspiration dice to add to an ability check, attack roll,

or saving throw involving its Dexterity modifier, it can roll the

die twice and take the higher of the two rolls.
