Lesson Title: The way we are

Lesson Goal:

By the end of this lesson students will be able to talk or describe behaviors and personalities using adjectives
and manner adverbs.

Linguistic objectives: Communicative objectives:

 Students will be able to talk about people’s


behavior using manner adverbs and adjectives.  Students will be able to describe personalities
using adverbs before adjectives.
Listening comprehension objective:

 Students will be able to comprehend the content of audio-visual authentic materials by means of the
reading strategies listening for gist.

Lesson contextualization

As it is important to encourage students to get familiar to the language exposure, all the workshop will be
presented as a group evaluation that will have 3 stages (first stage personal quiz, second stage listening, third
stage dynamic group activity), where the last stage will be in couples.

Personal quiz

GETTING READY FOR PERSONAL QUIZ!

The dynamic of the workshop will be explained to the students. The teacher will tell them that they have an
specific time to each section (30 minutes for quiz personal, 30 minutes for listening and 30 minutes for the
dynamic activity) they will be told about the abilities we will develop in each stage (listening for gist) they
could work in groups for the activity of listening and in groups for the final dynamic activity.

Students get in groups of five to receive a handout where they will can find the personal quiz and the activity
for the listening. At the end, groups of students get a game like Twister that contain the final activity.

 The students will receive a sheet where the personal quiz is located, in addition to that the quiz will be
projected on the board.
 The students will read and you will have two options to choose from in the personal quiz according to
their tastes.
 At the end of the personal quiz, the students and the teacher will carry out a socialization where they
will identify adjectives and adverbs.
 Continuous, students can ask about the vocabulary to understand.

Listening

After the vocabulary activity, students can hear the pronunciation of some adjectives and manner adverbs in
sentences.

I will reproduce an audio with a grammar that contain sentences with adjectives and manner adverbs.

With this listening students will practice inductively the Listening for gist strategy which means that they
understand the general meaning of what is being said and recognized some adjectives and adverbs. Taking into
account the information they listen to, the students can do a list with the adjectives and manner adverbs that they
heard in the audio.

Dynamic activity

TIME TO PLAY!

In couples, they will have a board with colored circles that contain adjectives and adverbs in a manner, which
will be in their base form or conjugate and the student will have to:

 Conjugate it if is necessary and use it in a sentence.


 While a partner is on the board the other will be able to help him if he needs it.
 They will be able to say as many sentences as they prefer and they will obtain points
 The pair that is failing leaves the board and another in its place will be able to answer, so on until a pair
wins.
 The winning pair will be removed from the evaluation activity.

Evaluation

For the evaluation, the students will write a paragraph where they will introduce themselves and the person they
choose will introduce themselves.
The paragraph must contain:

The vocabulary seen in class.

Using adjectives and manner adverbs.

They should present the evaluation orally in front of their classmates.

The presentation must last at least 2 minutes.

has 2 possible answers that it depend about your behavior.
