1. There was a burglary  this morning when a group of men broke into  a house and made
off with jewelry and other valuables.

2. Police arrived on the scene soon after and are now investigating  the case.

3. There was one person at home at the time. The victim  was assaulted  and tied up
and is now recovering in hospital. His condition is stable and his injuries are not very serious.
 

4. In other news, a man was arrested  [arrested] at 2 am last night for drunk driving  after returning
from a nightclub in the early hours of the morning. Police said he was 3 times over the alcohol limit and they pulled
him over after his car was seen to be swaying from side to side on the road.
 

5. The man has been released after payment of his bail  by a relative.

 
6. In other news, police are looking for information on a gang of youths, who have been involved in
shoplifting  in several stores on the high street. They are also suspected of several cases of
theft  [mugging] where small amounts of cash and mobile phones were taken.

7. A man was arrested on charges of terrorism  in the airport this morning after airport police found a
suspicious device in his bag believed to be a home-made bomb.
