Personal Statement:

My interest in the field of education was ignited before I entered high school. Several
extended family members were in the teaching profession. However, my dad was a teacher
and I had high school-aged siblings planning to enter the educational field. My decision to
enter the educational profession was profoundly affected by these people. Many family
gatherings have included discussions on education over the last 25 years. Heated or calm, I
was always intrigued by the topics, even though I was unable to grasp the depth of the debate.
As the time approached for me to set personal and professional goals, I have made a careful
choice for myself to enter a field that would give me a sense of achievement and, at the same
time, have a positive impact on mankind. I was always fascinated by the incredible work of
energy conversion, electrical cars, and renewable energy when I was a freshman here at king
Saud University Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I almost decided at that point that electrical
engineering was the career for me. I loved the practical dimension of problem-solving in this
field. In keeping with this viewpoint, I earned a scholarship and went for a Master’s degree
here at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa, USA and a Ph.D. degree in Arizona State
University Tempe, USA to further immerse myself in the interesting findings of engineering
and put into the practice. However, the problem was, either by revolving around these
machines or how well they achieved their functions, my interest was not satisfied. My degree
program and practice in the field give me rare opportunities to be surrounded by people who
share the same interests as mine, so I came back and entered academia. I have been asked
many times why I wished to join academics. After considerable reflection, I am extremely
satisfied internally with the ability to help others, to promote learning, and the feeling that my
efforts in life were positively directed. Engineering came as a wish granted, but I also
realized that academics/education was a mission for me. My knowledge and understanding of
the profession have expanded significantly as I have grown older and have begun to
participate. I try to serve the electrical engineering community with my learning and
experience. I write articles (in local newspapers) and research papers on engineering, digital
transformation, energy, and many aspects that I’ve learned throughout my life intending to
contribute to the engineering community and help my students, that is what I am trying to
see. It has been through these family debates that I determined not only to be the best teacher
I could be but to also be a leader in the field of education. My maturity and experiences have
helped me to reflect upon the roles of leadership, related qualities, and responsibilities in
education and other organizations. My objective upon enrolling in this program was to
acquire knowledge, build skills, improve my vision, expand my experiences, and realize my
place in leadership and education. Finally, I hope that the MBA degree will serve as the
ultimate basis for my journey – socially and professionally, to achieve my workplace success.
