CONTENTS
(2) Ver1.10
1. New function for “FUJIFILM M MOUNT ADAPTER” is added to the shooting menu.
2. The MENU name "FOCAL LENGTH SETTING" is changed into "MOUNT ADAPTER SETTING",
and new correction menu are added.
*DISTORTION CORRECTION
*COLOR SHADING CORRECTION
*PERIPHERAL ILLUMINATION CORRECTION
3. Even if "LENS 5" or "LENS 6" (adjustable focal length) is set, the Bright Frame can be
displayed on OVF in accordance with focal length.
(Recommended lens focal length for OVF to check the Bright Frame: from 18mm to 60mm)
4. In MF (manual focus) mode, sharpness of live image at 10x magnified operation (by pressing
the command dial) is set to high and focusing point can be much easily confirmed.
5. When “FUJIFILM M MOUNT ADAPTER” is connected to the camera body,
the following issues are effective.
*By pressing the function button of M mount adapter",
"MOUNT ADAPTER SETTING" menu is displayed quickly.
*“SHOOT WITHOUT LENS" is automatically set to "ON".
*“Distance indicator (Manual focus indicator)" in "Standard display" mode
on EVF/OVF is automatically set to "OFF".
*3 types of new correction menu (DISTORTION / COLOR SHADING / PERIPHERAL
ILLUMINATION) are activated.
(3) Ver1.11
1. The two collections below will be reflected to live image on EVF/LCD when FUJIFILM
M-mount adapter is set to the camera body and the correction menus are activated,
*COLOR SHADING CORRECTION
*PERIPHERAL ILLUMINATION CORRECTION
2 X-Pro1 will not work at all when update the firmware of X10 or X-S1 by mistake
Faults: Basically, a camera cannot be updated with firmware of different models.
However, the firmware ofX-Pro1 had a bug, so that X-Pro1 will not work at all if a customer
updates the firmware of X-Pro1 with firmware of X10 or X-S1 by mistake.
Solution: Once X-Pro1 doesn’t work at all after the incorrect firmware update, not only the customers but also
your repair center cannot recover it because all the adjusted data in our factory have been erased.
If a customer asks you to repair the camera, please refer to the Service Manual
P3-16"MAIN PWB Initialize".
When you can turn the camera on after the procedure, you should carry out the all adjustment
procedure (P3-16~P3-39), because all the adjusted data in our factory have been erased.

4 CMOS scratches/dirt/smudges
Faults: Black spots appear in recorded images.
Analysis:
Solution: Adjustment (Service ManualP3-20 & P3-28 Level adjustment) or exchange the MAIN PWB ASSY
7 Viewfinder fault
Faults: * EVF bright spots (dead pixels)
* Dirt inside viewfinder
Analysis:
* Low-luminance spots can be seen in the EVF.
All cameras received for repair were within standards.
Solution: Cleaning the dust in Finder (Bltn. No.:2012-074), or exchange the UNIT MOUNT.
We will issue the Service Bulletin regarding a solution. (how to lock the screw)
CN741 1pin
Lifting 1pin side of CN741 can duplicate the fault.
Solution: Reinsertion of FPC and re-adhering of connector holder cushion, or, LCD replacement

Analysis:
(1)Speaker harness soldering fault (2)fault of TOP-MAIN_FPC
Analysis: Strap mount (die-cast) becomes is worn out by triangular clasp ring (iron).
Put iron tube inside the strap mount.
We will issue the Service Bulletin regarding the solution later.
Example of X100
Analysis: Flare occurs in center of photo with 60mm lens when the macro shooting shorter
than 40cm and aperture is closed more than F5.6.

Analysis: Components of Grease (BC-13) can separate leaving in high temperature conditions,
and leak from aperture ring.
Change to another grease (FG300) with oil barrier effect.
Shipment of improved ones started from 22 May 2012.
Analysis: When auto focusing with a hood attached, the hood sometimes interferes with the ornamental ring,
preventing the focusing lens from working, resulted in the error.

A
It is specifications.
To decrease AE time at power on, the aperture is fixed in position regardless of the surrounding
brightness, after which it moves to the optimal aperture value due to functioning of continuous AE.
(Aperture position at startup: for 18mm, f/2.5, and for 35mm/60mm, f/2.4)
A
Depending on the mode used, the slowest shutter speed varies.
・Aperture priority auto
Since battery consumption increases under long-time exposure conditions,
shutter speed is designed to assume a slowest 1/4 sec when the power save setting is set to on.
When set to off, it sets automatically to a slowest 30 sec according to ISO speed, aperture,
and surrounding brightness.
・Program auto
The range settable with power save mode on and off is same.
A limit of a slowest 1/4 sec is the same as other models so that unintentional long-time
exposure does not occur.
・Shutter speed priority auto
The range settable with power save mode on and off is same. Usable up to 30 sec.
Can be set to “T” if a shutter speed slower than 2 sec is desired.
Setting to “B” fixes speed at 30 sec.
A
Changing aperture can shift the AF out of position,
with a change of depth-of-field, etc. after AF is locked so that the aperture is designed
not to be changed.
A
When shooting with JPEGs, “distortion adjustment” (especially at both edges of an image)
is applied.
But for RAWs, “distortion adjustment” is not applied because users can later use software
such as Silkypix to make adjustments. As a result, angles of view appears different
between JPEGs and RAWs.
Also, for JPEGs, the level of adjustment differs with the zoom position, and distortion is sometimes
applied more especially at wide-end angle, causing the angle of view to appear more different
in edges of image than at center.
A
While this normally does not occur due to high-grade signal processing, under demanding shooting
conditions where ghost and flare can occur, a striped pattern rarely does occur
by the effects of the color filter array.
A
Axial chromatic aberration has occurred, with the difference in colors being a result of the amount
that colors are out of focus with front focus (magenta) or rear focus (green).
This phenomenon also occurs with our other cameras as well as other-brand cameras,
which tends to occur near where the aperture is fully open, and can be reduced or avoided
by closing aperture about 2 stops.
A
Fluorescent lights flicker faster than people can see (50 or 60 times per a second).
Particularly when using a fast shutter speed, this flickering has a larger effect,
and images are sometimes captured with a band-shaped pattern.
This phenomenon also occurs with other cameras, and can be reduced or avoided
by lowering the shutter speed to a range of 1/50 sec to 1/100 sec.
A
It is a pattern when aperture blades are being made and is not abnormal.
A
The camera is held vertically with the camera case still attached and
the camera case contacts the lens.
Can be avoided by changing the way the camera is held.
