Comprehensive information about the review process is found on the Commission website at page
dedicated to the review:
https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/construction/product-regulation/review_en
As part of the review, the Commission has defined a number of possible policy options for the future
ranging from no legislative change to complete withdrawal of the CPR, which would mean relying on
mutual recognition. Between these two extremes, other policy options are sketched. The policy
options are described in the document Refined indicative options for the review of the Construction
Products Regulation, which is found at the below address:
https://ec.europa.eu/docsroom/documents/40762/attachments/1/translations/en/renditions/native
At several occasions, the Commission has emphasised that no decisions have been made and that
none of the options described in the above-mentioned document would be the “preferred option”.
The Commission invites stakeholders, including notified bodies, to give their feedback regarding the
policy options, which have been defined. A survey will be open for comments until 31 August 2020 at
the address: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/FutureOptionsForTheReviewOfTheCPR.
Normally, GNB-CPR is not considered an interest group and hence GNB-CPR as such would not be
expected to have any particular views regarding which direction a CPR revision should take.
However, notified bodies active in the GNB-CPR hold a high level of expertise, which should be offered
for the purpose of enhancing the quality of the future legislation.
How and at which stage the GNB-CPR should offer its expertise will be subject to discussion in the GNB
Advisory Group.
