Project Guidelines specific to PGDID Learners

Objective of PGDID Project

To develop skills, insights and understandings of the basics of instructional design concepts,
models, theories and principles combined with creativity, with emphasis on development of
instructionally sound storyboards/scripts.

All learners of PGDID program have to submit a project at the end of Semester II

SCDL allows learners to take-up any topic of their interest and choice for Project. However,
learners should bear in mind that the project topic should be relevant to Instructional Designing.
At the end of II semester learners need to select any one topic on their own to create a storyboard
or a script. Learner may choose to create either a storyboard or a script. Both formats serve the
same purpose and include the same descriptive elements, but vary in their layout and treatment of
graphics. Sample storyboard and sample script are provided in the SLMs.
a) Storyboards use rough sketches or clip art to visually depict required art elements.
b) Scripts use verbal description of on-screen graphical items.

Creating Storyboard
Learner is supposed to create the storyboard using Power point application (PPT file). Naming
the file: Learners should use their registration number to name the file e.g. 20050000.ppt

Creating Script
Learner is supposed to create the storyboard using MS-Word application (doc file). Naming the
file: Learners should use their registration number to name the file e.g. 20050002.doc.

Project Submission

• Softcopy of the project is to be submitted on projectreport@scdl.net to SCDL.

• Please note that the name of the file should be learner’s registration number e.g.
20050002.doc
• Learners are required to retain a softcopy of the project with them.
