MY PERSONAL LIFE
I. Personal Profile
Dian Canillo Torregosa, 18, Female, August 10, 2003, Valencia City Hospital,
Born Again, Single, Purok - 5, Lower Patag, Alanib, Lantapan Bukidnon,
Bachelor of Science in Nursing

II. Family Background

My mothers name is Josephine Canillo Torregosa, While my fathers name is
Dante Ayento Torregosa.Their first match was in Valencia City Bukidnon, on
January 12, 1998. They were married for 22 years from now and counting for
God’s sake I only got one older sister, Daphne Canillo Torregosa. She is 20 years
old.My mother is a OFW in China, and she is an English tutor there. Since I was
2 years old, she left us to go abroad, I only saw her 2 twice since she left us. But, I
understand her though. Because without her and papa’s hard work, we cannot get
what we want. I pity mom so much, because she has no family to go home to after
she is done with her work. And when she is sick, there is no one to take care of
her. She has made so many sacrifices for me and my sister. She left her husband,
especially her parents. I really owe my mom big time, Because she has so many
choices there, she can stop us from sustaining our needs but she did not. Because
of that I really love my mom even though I just saw her twice. LIfe without a
mother on your side is so hard, it's like there always seems to be something
missing inside you.And about my papa, I really adore him and love him so much.
Because he raised me and ate well. Just like my mother he had a choice to leave
me and ate alone but he did not. He always tells me and my older sister to be
good. So when our mother goes back here in the Philippines she will be proud of
us because we grew up well and will be disciplined. He always fills us with his
love, he never makes us feel that we are lacking something. And to my sister, I
really love her also because never leaves me when papa and mama are not around
to talk to, her shoulder is always ready for me to lean on.

III. Educational Backgrounds

I started my kindergarten school when I was 4 years old, at Alanib Elementary

School and I graduated there until sixth grade. My journey started when our
mother decided to send us to a prestigious school and also our father. Because
of the two of them wanting us to get into the prestigious school they say, me
and my older sister became independent instantly. They sent us to San Isidro
College in Malaybalay City, which is too far from our house. They rented a
boarding house for us, where all the work is ours. At first, my sister and I
found it difficult to socialize with other people because they seemed to be so
high class. We are not used to the environment they live in. We made
acquaintances who were fresh to school and were like us until we got adjusted
towards it. Just like everyone else, my sister and I got sick and we only helped
ourselves because our dad is not around to take care of us just like the old
times. At first it was difficult not until you made friends, And in my junior
year, I found my real friends who can be there through my ups and downs.
They are there for me in my misery and happiness in my life. I also don’t
regret that my parents sent us far from them because we learned a lot, In
academics and on our own. Junior days are so memorable and colorful for me.
Because here you can find true friends, you can learn to take cutting classes
with them and go night out with them. And because of them, I became active
in sports.

IV. Social History

After class on friday, my favorite day in the calendar, My sister and I go home
until sunday. And I really love to go home because I really missed my bed, especially
my papa. I feel like I am safe when I’m home. I only have a few friends here in our
town and that is also why I love going home because when I’m with them, I don't
seem to have a problem with my studies.

V. Childhood/Adolescence/Early Adulthood Experiences

A. Infancy and Childhood

When my mother gave birth to me, she cried very hard because I didn't come out of her stomach,
because my head is so big. And when I was a child they gave me a nickname which is “baktin”,
because I was overweight as a kid. I was born in Valencia Hospital in Valencia City. The
unforgettable memories for me when I was a child are when papa buys us things in malls, and
when we are walking while he's two hands are with me and my older sister. Why? Because it
hasn’t happened anymore since we entered Junior High, Until now. I don’t remember my infancy
days but my papa told me that that was the time when my mother left us to go abroad. When I
was in grade school, I was to play Jumping Ropes using the string in Balete Tree. Also the
language I used was bisaya, because here in our town, if you speak English they will laugh at
you and bully you. Until then, my father always reminds us that we should only go to
relationships after we have completed anything on our own so that we don't end up like those
who haven't. My cousins and I are not that pretty close but my neighbor is. We have a good
neighbor here because of our closeness we exchange foods and everything. My experience in
school right now is kinda boring, because we cannot see each other because of the pandemic. No
school events, just schooling. My favorite foods are letchon baboy, especially the rib part and
dessert is macaroni salad and cakes. While in Tv shows, I love k-dramas and anime. And for the
people around me, I like hanging out with my Older sister.

Adolescence
The Fondest memory of me in High School is when me and my friends got
scolded by our teacher and she put us in the detention room but we are still happy
because we didn;t enter her class. My circle of friends is not that big. But, each of
us has a unique personality. They are kind, bad girls, obedient, shy types,
talkative, and bright. I got my first crush when I was in grade 7. I like him
because he is such a cute, adorable and shy type of guy. So far the stupid thing I
did in my life is I sleep into our online class ma’am with an open mic and i don’t
know my mic is on and my father scolded me that why did I sleep in your class,
and the most embarrassing is all of my classmates hears what my father told me, i
didn’t mean to sleep in your class ma’am, I am sorry for that. Since I was a kid
my mother spoiled me with sky blue colors, all my stuff is sky blue from clothes
to toys, While older is pink. My favorite music is LANY’S songs.
Early Adulthood

I see myself 5 years from now as a professional registered nurse. The lesson I
learned in life is ‘’Experience what you have learned.” Because no matter how
much we think we know about some topic, it is only after we have put that
knowledge into use that we get confirmation of the actual level of understanding
that we possess. The dream i love the most in my whole life is when we are
complete again in my graduation. My dream place to go is Paris together with my
family. The ideal person I look up to is a soft hearted man and understands and
cares about my family and friends. And most of all he can appreciate small things.

VI. Analysis (discussion will focus on sociology, anthropology, psychology, and

western/eastern perspectives/theories/concepts)

Society affects my personal development in many ways. Because it is my

background from which I adopt the current culture, identity especially my values.
Nurture refers to all the environmental variables that impact who we are,
including our early childhood experiences, how we were raised, our relationships
and our surrounding culture. While doing this task I learned that when we grow
up, we change our personality as well as our habits. Because of who you interact
in everyday life.
