1. EMR2 security update

The process of the EMR2 security update has been automated, see Technical Circular
0199-27-1215.

The part numbers indicated in this document are not subject to updating.

a Normal case
With the interface competence level 2 and the DEUTZ service tool SERRDIA2000 Ver-
sion 1.8.4 the EMR2 software version on the control unit is read out and interpreted. If
the program has detected an update situation, the existing data record is saved on the
hard disk, the new control unit software is programmed and finally the previously saved
data record is transferred again.

b The control unit is in the "DOWNLOAD mode"

The control unit is in the "DOWNLOAD mode" after an error. With the interface com-
petence level 2 or higher and the DEUTZ service tool
SerDiaecuSWUpdate.exe the control unit software and the saved data record can be
programmed back.

Now start the program:

C:\Programme\DEUTZ\Serdia\SERDIA2000V1.8.4\SerDiaEcuSWUpdate.exe

c The control unit is in the "NORMAL mode" but contains no data record

The control unit is in the "NORMAL mode" after an error.

Case 1b now no longer works! With the interface competence level 3 plus password or
higher and the DEUTZ service tool SerDiae2000 V 1.8.4 the control unit software and
the saved data record can be programmed back.

2. Password
No password is required for the security update. Exception: see case 1c.

3. Location of files
The EMR2 security update, the software SerDia2000 V 1.8.4 and the SERDIA2000 manual
are available under the following address on the Internet: http://serdia.deutz.com/

4. Security
The communication between the control unit and SerDia2000 may not be interrupted dur-
ing programming.

5. Working structure of the hard disk

The data record of the control unit is saved on the hard disk before reprogramming.

with yymmdd = day of the update = 100913
and sssssss and mmmmmmmm see graphic

● At the end of the programming work an adhesive label with the new part number must
be affixed to the control unit, near to the control unit or near to the diagnostic interface
for certification reasons.

● The appropriate part number can be found in the SerDia under DEUTZ part number.
● The adhesive labels must be ordered by e-mail from emr2@deutz.com.

c New trip recorder functions

Functions (e.g. load collective) have now been activated and can be displayed conven-
iently.

There is now extra additional information about the interpretation of error images.

d Data logger
A data logger for measured values was installed but the data can only be displayed at
the end of the measurement. They are saved in a "CSV" format and can be read in for
example with MS-EXCEL.

Up to 15 measured values can be recorded simultaneously. There is a choice of differ-

ent measured value packages (experiments). You can also create your own measured
value packages.
Further evaluation of the data with MS-EXCEL or e.g. UNIPLOT.
