LA VENENO – DEATH

On November 9, 2016, Spain woke up with the news: 'La Veneno' died at the age of 52 at the
La Paz hospital in Madrid. Three days earlier, Cristina Ortiz was admitted urgently with
multiple bruises and endless doubts. The hypotheses were accident, suicide and/or murder.
Although the case was closed briefly, after nine days, pointing to the accident, the vedette's
family continues to defend that she was murdered. The judge filed the investigations and
ruled out the existence of a possible crime of homicide. The case for Cristina's death was
closed.

When the emergency services arrived, they found her unconscious. In the bathtub with a large
pool of blood. At his side was Alin Bogdan, his partner for almost three years, and a
neighbor, who was the one who raised the alert. I was taken to the hospital and underwent
emergency surgery. He had a severe head injury. He died three days later.

The official version - police, judicial and forensic - always pointed out that the vedette,
presumably, would have mixed alcohol and/or other substances that night. The accidental fall
caused a serious head injury. The doctors found a strong brain edema (swelling), so it was
necessary to induce a coma. The report stated that there was no fight or defense injury on his
body that might suggest a violent scenario. It was the first contradiction faced by his family,
who, as soon as they arrived at the hospital, denounced that "La Veneno" was full of bruises
and blows to the legs, feet and head. They took pictures of it to prove it.

Nine days after Cristina's death, the case was closed. The family considers that “the speed,
surely, has allowed many loose threads to remain. "The inconsistencies prompt us to think
about the superficiality with which the proceedings were treated and even a possible negative
influence due to their sexual condition."

El 9 de noviembre de 2016 España amanecía con la noticia: 'La Veneno' fallecía a los 52 años
en el hospital de La Paz, en Madrid. Tres días antes, Cristina Ortiz ingresó de urgencia con
múltiples contusiones y un sinfín de dudas. Las hipótesis fueron accidente, suicidio y/o
asesinato. Aunque el caso se cerró de forma fugaz, a los nueve días, apuntando al accidente,
la familia de la vedette sigue defendiendo que fue asesinada. El juez archivó las
investigaciones y descartó la existencia de un posible delito de homicidio. Se cerró la causa
por la muerte de Cristina.

Cuando llegaron los servicios de emergencia la encontraron inconsciente. En la bañera con un

gran charco de sangre. A su lado estaba Alin Bogdan, su pareja desde hace casi tres años, y
una vecina, que fue quien dio la alerta. Fui trasladada al hospital e intervenida de urgencia.
Tenía un fuerte traumatismo craneoencefálico. Murió tres días después.

La versión oficial -policial, judicial y forense- siempre señaló que la vedette,

presuntamente, habría mezclado alcohol y/otras sustancias aquella noche. La caída,
accidental, le ocasionó un grave traumatismo craneal. Los médicos encontraron un fuerte
edema (hinchazón) cerebral, por lo que fue necesario inducirle el coma. El informe recogía
que no existía en su cuerpo ninguna lesión de lucha o defensa que pudiera hacer pensar en un
escenario violento. Fue la primera contradicción que enfrentó su familia, que, nada más llegar
al hospital denunció que 'La Veneno' estaba repleta de hematomas y golpes por las piernas,
los pies y la cabeza. Le hicieron fotos para probarlo.

A los 9 días del fallecimiento de Cristina cerraron el caso. La familia considera que “la
rapidez, seguramente, ha permitido que queden muchos hilos sueltos. "Las incongruencias
incitan a pensar en la superficialidad con que se trataron las diligencias e incluso una posible
influencia negativa por su condición sexual”.
