ONLINE LEARNING ETIQUETTE FOR STUDENTS

BEFORE ONLINE SESSION

1. Choose a place where you can stay away from any distraction and unnecessary
noise while having the online session.
2. Make sure that you have fully charged your laptop/tablet/smartphone prior to the
session.
3. Dress appropriately. Avoid wearing sexually suggestive clothing or any clothing that
would generally be considered as "pambahay."
4. Prepare your ballpen and notebook for note-taking.
5. Make sure that you are well-lit so that you will be visible by your teacher and/or
classmates.
6. Log in 10 minutes before the start of your online session.

DURING ONLINE SESSION

1. Show respect to your instructor and classmates when communicating online.


2. Be aware of strong language, all caps, and exclamation points.
3. Be careful with humor and sarcasm.
4. Always participate in the discussion.
5. Take down notes and listen carefully.
6. Do not multitask. Focus on the discussion and avoid opening many websites/apps not
related to the class.
7. Do not interrupt your instructor while delivering his/her lecture unless permitted. If you
have questions, ask your instructor politely.
8. Do not leave while the session is ongoing unless there is an emergency.

AFTER ONLINE SESSION

1. Do not post or share inappropriate materials even privately.


2. Accomplish the assigned task/s on time. As much as possible, follow deadlines.
3. Follow the consultation period given by your instructor should you have queries.
Never send a text message or chat your instructor beyond the allowed consultation
period. Respect his/her time.
4. Practice the core values of the University at all times: honesty, integrity, loyalty, and
excellence.
