Worksheet Filters
Filters control which data is retrieved from

the database.

Filters are additive – for example, if you
create a filter to only display three brands a
second filter only filters on the those brands.

To add a filter to a worksheet
1. Click Worksheet > Filter or click hand icon.

• In upper left area, double-click a level

• Upper right area shows your level
• Lower left shows all members of that level
• In lower left list, double-click each member that you want to
include in the worksheet.

 Repeat for next level if necessary.
 Click OK.
 Rerun the worksheet (Data > Rerun).

Use of multiple filters

Using Open and Open With
The Open and Open With right-click menu options allow

you to open worksheets from a members list, filtered to
that member.

Worksheets can be launched pre-filtered based on

selected member

• This launches the Demand Analysis Item
and Org worksheet for item AS18947

of the member from which we launched the worksheet

Configuring “Open With”
1. To configure “Open” and “Open with,” you associate
levels & worksheets.
2. To do this, you use the Business Modeler.
3. Click Components>Create/Open Component.

“Open With” context
• Sometimes it is desirable to further filter a worksheet that

you open in this way.
• Demantra provides an option to consider the entire context
from which you launch a worksheet, to apply the
corresponding additional filtering.

• Demantra provides an option to control which context is
used:
– either just the member you clicked
– or the complete context of that member where you
clicked it.
• You specify this context within the worksheet definition.

Embedded Worksheets
Embedded worksheets allow you to view a

worksheet within a worksheet.

The Embedded Worksheet
• Rather than launching a worksheet filtered to your
selected member (Open With)
• We embed that filtered worksheet within your
parent worksheet
• Then, depending on what is selected in the parent
worksheet, the embedded worksheet is filtered
correspondingly to that selection

Incarnation of “Open With”: the Embedded
worksheet
• You can tell that this table is an embedded worksheet because it

is shown within a tab.
• An embedded worksheet is also known as a subtab worksheet.
• Embedded worksheets can be complex, but in practice are usually
just simple tables.

• Add via the layout designer (Advanced button).

• You choose a level by

you do with Open With.

Synchronization of sub-tabs
• The subtabs of a worksheet are not necessarily
synchronized with the rest of the worksheet.
• A single setting controls all subtabs of a worksheet:
– Notes/Attachments
– Activity/Gantt
– Embedded worksheets
• This option is Options>Synch
Automatically/Synch On Demand.
• If the subtabs are currently “on demand,”
there is a right-click option to refresh them
with whatever is currently selected:

Units and Exchange Rates
• Demantra allows viewing the data at multiple units of
measures
• Worksheets can be configured to view data at multiple
UOMs

• Switch the worksheet to a different UOM – say Cases

• From business modeler – select Configure Display Units.
Identify the table and column that has a factor stored.

• For price, select the exchange rates that are available for
the component.

• Make sure that the units and exchange rates are enabled
for the component.

• Exchange rates are configured from configure indexes
option in business modeler.
