The “Fellowship of Christian Athletes” is touching millions of lives… one heart at a time.

Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been

challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high, and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to
impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by engaging, equipping, and empowering people to make a difference for
Christ.

In 2014, a group of men from Berne began

questioning the direction of sports in America. It
seems like each year more and more is offered for
kids and more and more is expected. Each
individual involved with our organization “loves”
sports, in particular -the game of baseball, but we
all had to question – if it’s only about baseball in
the end will it be empty? Travel sports are a major
component of the current and future system of development for athletes who want to compete against better competition. Families all
over the nation completely restructure their lives around travel sports often missing what’s most important for the sake of the sport.
Sure, I want my son someday to develop and compete at the highest level but when it’s all over and he’s a grown man I want him to
know what was and is most important, not the game of baseball or any other sport for that matter, rather the relationship he has with
Christ. We love sports and know the value they offer and the engine they provide for athletes, coaches, and parents to learn and teach
valuable life lessons. The Berne Bears Baseball Club - an affiliate of Fellowship of Christian Athletes was established in the spring of
2014 for the very purpose of offering a competitive travel baseball option for players and parents who desire more than just baseball.
Our model is very affordable and provides a tailored schedule that is far less time constrictive than most travel baseball organizations.
Within the Bears’ framework, we encourage our athletes to be involved in
multiple sports, family-oriented, and community-minded. We are very
passionate about maintaining what is most important all the while providing
an opportunity for young ballplayers to develop. At some point in each
practice or game, our teams have a devotional or prayer time and often at the
conclusion of games, our teams will pray with their opponent at home plate.
Our coaches have countless stories in just one year of how the Lord has
impacted a player’s heart or even the heart of a parent. It’s exciting to see
the Lord work through athletics!

We would love the opportunity to work with your son – both developing his talents and eternal character! Interested in knowing more
