Suryanshu (02:32)
So the first question is how many four wheelers do you own? Yes, Sahil go on.

Sahil (02:47)
So I have one four wheel at my place.

Atul (02:56)
So my family has also one.

Prajwal (03:03)
We have one four wheeler.
Mahima (03:13)
We have two four wheeler in our family.

Videep(03:21)

We have one four wheeler in our family.

Manasvi (03:37)
One four wheeler.

Himanshu(03:39)
We have two four wheelers.

Suryanshu(03:42)
Cool. Next question please. So which model of maruti Suzuki do you own? You can unmute and tell
your answers.

Mahima(04:09)
Yes, I have Celerio model in Maruti Suzuki.

Videep (04:19)
I have Maruti Suzuki Dezire.

Prajwal(04:29)
We have a Ciaz.

Atul (04:29)
We have a WangonR

Suryanshu(04:31)
Ok. Himanshu.
Himanshu (04:33)
We have a Swift.

Aman ( 04:37)
Same as Himanshu, I have also Swift.

Suryanshu(04:39)
Sahil.

Sahil(04:40)
Yeah, it's Wagner.

Suryanshu (04:44)
Lastly, Manasvi

Manasvi ( 04:45)
Swift

Suryanshu(04:47)
Cool. Next question please. From how long you are using this vehicle?

Prajwal(05:00)
About, Four years.

Aman (05:02)
Eight years.

Atul(05:08)
Three years.

Mahima (05:11)
Five Years

Himanshu (05:15)
Eight to nine Years

Sahil (05:21)
Same, Eight to nine years

Videep (05:25)
Six years.

Suryanshu(05:28)
And Manasvi, What about you?

Manasvi(05:29)
Eight to nine years.

Suryanshu(05:33)
Can we go to the next question? So the next question is what were the features that attracted you for
buying the car you own? Yes, Sahil go ahead.

Sahil (05:46)
So there were many basic features like power windows, power steering. You could say a compact car
because we are a family of four. So it was suitable for us. And also the sound system.

Suryanshu (06:06)
Cool. Prajwal!

Prajwal(06:09)
So all the modern features that it provided, also the look, the performance, the mileage and the
comfort it had.

Mahima(06:22)
Okay. So mileage, the look and design of the car and also value for money, like the price of the car.

 Suryanshu(06:33)
Okay, and Aman?

Aman (06:36)
Mileage design and I would say compact wise.

Atul (06:43)
So I also go for mileage, design and that's it
Videep (06:53)
Yes, I would go with the performance and design. And at the time when I bought this car, they were
mostly all these features were at par with the competitors.

Himanshu (07:07)
Okay. Just like everyone else, mileage, the look and feel of the car, the price point. And one additional
feature was the legroom.

Suryanshu (07:21)
Okay. And Manasvi?

Manasvi (07:23)
For me also it was mileage, comfort and also it's resale value.

Suryanshu(07:30)
Nice, Can we go to the next question please? So the next question is what is the overall satisfaction
that you get from your Maruti Suzuki car?

Aman (07:37)
Yeah, satisfied.

Mahima(07:49)
Satisfied.

Prajwal (07:51)
Neutral

Sahil (07:57)
Neutral.

 Himanshu (08:01)
 satisfied

Atul (08:04)
 Satisfied.
Videep (08:08)
 Satisfied

Manasvi (08:10)
satisfied.

Suryanshu(08:13)
Next question. So the next question is what attracted you to choose Maruti among other competitor
brands? Basically, here we are asking that why did you choose Maruti as a brand or other brand?

Atul (08:26)
I choose Maruti as a brand, because it was under my budget as compared to other brands, because
those were over six lakhs and I got WagonR under six lakhs. a month.

Aman (08:52)
After sales service. Then budget and comfort.

Suryanshu(08:57)
Okay.

Videep (08:59)
Trust factor attached to this plan and affordability.

Mahima(09:08)
Okay. So Marty is known for good quality, like providing good quality product in budget. So that was
one factor. And second factor is because of the low maintenance charges that are required after
purchasing.

Suryanshu (09:24)
Okay.

Sahil (09:29)
First is monitor obviously after sales service. Also, I feel Maruti is the age old name in India. So it is
one of the largest and oldest manufacturer of cars in India. So that was one of the reasons and also the
resell value.

Suryanshu (09:50)
Nice one.

Prajwal(09:52)
So firstly, it was value for money and there was no maintenance cost as well as availability of spare
part wherever and whenever required easily.

Manasvi (10:07)
For me also it was the trust associated with the Brand Maruti and also the good after sales services
that it provides.

Himanshu(10:20)
For me, it was that cars were affordable, they had a great resale value. They were availability of parts
and the maintenance was comparatively better and people actually knew about the brand so it was the
brand value as well.

Suryanshu (10:34)
Right. Let me go to the next question. What kind of sources of information did you collect before
buying the Maruti Suzuki car? Yes, Sahil ahead.

Sahil (10:47)
Yes. So a little bit of research on net talk to other relatives who own different companies cars and also
the people who have maruti car, their experiences and also some information from the sales people
that were there were explaining the features about the car.

Prajwal (11:07)
Similar did some research on the internet, got some info from relatives and also took some quotations
from one two showrooms and compared the branch.

Suryanshu(11:21)
Okay, Aman.

Aman  (11:22)
Yeah. Research from Internet and friend suggestions.

Atul (11:29)
So I did Internet research and saw some YouTube videos as a review. And I also get suggested by my
uncle.
Suryanshu (11:39)
Okay, videep.

Videep (11:42)
Yeah. I went to the storerooms to know about the product and to talk to people who already owned
the same car and did Internet research as well.

Suryanshu (11:53)
Okay, Manavi?

Manasvi (11:55)
So same as everyone internet research and information from relatives and friends.

Suryanshu (12:02)
Mahima.

Mahima (12:11)
Yeah. So I went to the dealer stores. But yeah, I started with the Internet research and then I went to
the dealer stores.

Suryanshu (12:20)
Okay, Himanshu?

Himanshu(12:22)
For me it started off while searching on the internet about the features and everything, setting a price
point, then going to the showroom to get more information on the cars and they're after the test drive
of it.

Suryanshu (12:38)
Okay. Can we have the next question?

Suryanshu (12:42)
Who influenced you while buying the Maruti Suzuki car?

Prajwal (12:54)
Mostly family and friends who owned it.

Aman (13:01)
The sales guy.

Suryanshu (13:06)
Sahil, Your answer please.

Sahil (13:09)
I would say that obviously the family members who own the Maruti suzuki car, but also I feel some
sort of Advertisement the brand recall that I had because buying a car first car, generally a name
comes up that is Maruti Suzuki. So that was one of the influences.

Suryanshu (13:28)
Okay. Mahima, what about you?

Mahima (03:32)
Major influence was of my family and also the sales guy who was showing me the car.

Atul (13:41)
So same for me as family members. Other family relatives also told me about this Maruti Suzuki cars
and how good they are and how low maintenance they are. So that's why I chose them.

Himanshu(13:56)
For me it was mostly my family members and when additional person was my maintenance guy, who
used to maintain my cars and bikes.

Suryanshu (14:04)
Okay, videep.

Videep (14:06)
So I talked to other people who already own the same car. So basically friends.

Suryanshu (14:15)
Okay, Manasvi?

Manasvi (14:15)
For me also it was family and friends who owned the car.

Suryanshu (14:24)
Okay. Next question. What was the reason behind purchasing the current car you are using? Basically
here we are asking that what is the need for any person to purchase a car?

Aman (14:44)
Basically, it depends upon the family needs and obviously the lifestyle of the family.

Atul (14:53)
So I purchased because of family needs and a safety as compared to two wheels.

Sahil (15:02)
Yes, in family needs.

Prajwal (15:06)
Family needs so that we could travel together.

Videep (15:12)
Family needs.

Mahima (15:19)
Yes, family needs. I need a personal car to go to College.

Manasvi (15:27)
Family needs

Suryanshu (15:30)
And lastly Himanshu?

Himanshu (15:22)
Same family needs.

Suryanshu(15:35)
Okay, next question. Are you satisfied with the price ranges offered by Maruti Suzuki car?

Aman (15:49)
Yeah, I think price offered is very affordable and is in budget range.

Sahil (15:57)
Same answer. Considering all the features, I feel it is the best that we can get in that range.

Prajwal (16:08)
Yeah same, I agree.

Atul (16:13)
As compared to other brands. I think I am really satisfied by their price ranges.

Manasvi (16:20)
I also have the same opinion. I think the cars are very economical.

Videep (16:30)
I think yes, they are generally in the affordable range.

Suryanshu (16:36)
Mahima?

Mahima (16:39)
Yes, I'm also satisfied because of the affordability of the car.

Himanshu(16:48)
I'm also satisfied with the pricing.

Suryanshu (16:51)
Okay, next question. What other brands did you consider While purchasing the Maruti suzuki car?
Here basically we are asking that whenever we go to purchase a car, we basically do have other
brands in our mind as well. So what were the brands that you considered?

Videep (17:14)
I considered Hyundai.

Suryanshu (17:18)
Sahil.

Sahil (17:19)
Yes, same Hyundai.

Mahima (17:24)
It was Hyundai and Honda for me.

Himanshu(17:30)
Yes, same for me Hyundai and Honda.

Aman (17:34)
For me it was Tata and Hyundai.

Prajwal (17:39)
For me it was Tata, Honda and Hyundai.

Atul (17:45)
For me it was Tata and Mahindra.

Manasvi (17:49)
Tata and Honda.

Suryanshu (17:55)
Next question. In your opinion, how does the after sale service Impact the buyer decision?

Sahil (18:10)
Feel it is the second most sort of point while buying a car Because the first point is obviously how is
the driving experience? But after sales service is way more important because cars require
maintenance. So it is the second most decision I could say.

Mahima (18:33)
Yes, it was very important factor for me Because a major chunk of money you're going to spend after
buying the card is on service. So it was like my second or third priority.

Aman (18:50)
Yes, it was a very important factor because after sales It determines the life of the car. So it was very
important.

Atul (19:02)
Yes, it was a very important decision Because after sales service depends how my car can go for how
many long years.

Prajwal (19:15)
Yes It was important after sales service. If it's bad, I'm not buying the car.

Videep (19:22)
I think yes, it impacts the decision and after sales service availability in nearby areas is an important
factor.

Mansavi (19:34)
I also think that after sales service is an important factor and it was one of the reasons why I chose
Maruti.

Himanshu(19:45)
Yes, I also feel that the availability and portability of the after sales service Is an important decision.

Suryanshu (19:51)
Okay, next question. How good are the after sales services Compared to your expectations before
buying it? Here basically we are trying to ask is that everyone has certain expectation before buying
the car about the after sale services. Are you good with the afters and services of Maruti Suzuki here?

 Sahil (20:16)
Before buying the car. I was not much of aware about this after sales. How are the services given. But
see one of my friend owned a Ford car. Right. So thereafter services I feel much more homely or
better than Maruti Suzuki one. So I was bit disappointed but okay.

Prajwal (20:41)
Yeah I think it's as expected.

Himanshu (20:47)
I would say I'm dissatisfied with the after sales of Maruti.

Suryanshu (20:53)
Okay.

Atul (20:54)
I would say I'm not satisfied with after sales service because they rarely listen to the problems.

Manasvi (21:04)
I would say I'm quite satisfied with the service in my area.

Aman (21:15)
I am also satisfied with the service provided.

Mahima (21:20)
Yeah, I am also satisfied with the service.

Videep (21:27)
Yeah I feel it is pretty good as I have never really experienced any inconvenience in this regard.

Suryanshu (01:35)
Okay. Next question. In future would you buy the car from Maruti suzuki or would you like to switch
to another brand? If you wish to switch then why?

Mahima (21:53)
I would prefer buying another car with Maruti Suzuki brand only because I think that's value for
money and I'm quite satisfied with Maruti as a brand and cars.

Aman (22:09)
yeah I might switch to Tata because I feel they are coming up with better versions of the car in the
affordable range.

Prajwal (22:22)
Yeah. I would like to try other brands and explore the features that they provide.

Atul (22:30)
I would like to try other brands because of the reason of safety.

Sahil (22:39)
Yeah. I would also love to try other brands just because I am fond of designs and I feel recent in
recent years Maruti has lacked a lot on design so I will go for other brands also.

Himanshu (22:57)
I would also like to switch to another brand based on the features, the engine performance and the
comfort inside the car.

Suryanshu (23:06)
Okay. With deep.

Videep (23:09)
Yes. I would also like to try out new different pants and based on their features and design.

Manasvi (23:19)
For me also it would be features and design that other brands offer. So that would be the reason why I
would like to try it.

Suryanshu (23:28)
Okay. Next question. Do you think that Maruti is lagging on any of the features and if. Yes, would
you like to give any suggestions regarding those features?

Atul (23:44)
I think Maruti lags in safety. They don't have that higher rating of safety. So I would suggest to have a
better build quality of the cars.

Aman (23:58)
I feel the design of the multi car could be improved as well as the safety features as well.

Mahima (24:06)
Yes, safety features I would say and especially in the mid range they don't have good safety features,
proper airbags and stuff. So that would be the reason.

Prajwal (24:21)
So the safety features and designs need to be improved.

Sahil (24:28)
Yeah. I would also go with safety features and also designs because right now if I see a Maruti Suzuki
car. I still get that 15 or 18 years back kind of feeling. So it is not kind of catchy. I feel so they should
definitely improve on designs.

Suryanshu (24:47)
Okay, Videep?

Videep (24:49)
Yes. I also think that they could improve on design.

Manasvi (24:57)
I also think that the designs could be improved and also the safety features.

Himanshu (25:05)
I also believe that Maruti can improve on the design, engine performance and the features inside the
car.

Suryanshu (25:13)
Different answer! Next question. If Maruti starts selling the electric vehicle will you prefer to buy it
because of the brand? Because of the brand of Maruti?

Sahil (25:34)
I would say I will probably not buy because EV market is pretty new and Maruti I feel are pretty late
because there are many other companies that have already launched electric vehicles and I feel they
are doing very good and because they have advantage over Maruti Suzuki. I also feel that they will
develop their cars and new features and battery power very faster than Maruti. So I would not go with
Maruti.

Aman (26:12)
Yeah, Maybe in the long run five to six years down run, I might buy.

Himanshu (26:19)
Yes, just like Sahil, I will also not prefer to buy it right away considering Maruti  is a traditional sort
of a brand and the features that other brands can offer would be better.

Atul (26:31)
Other brands offer really good cars but it depends. If Maruti offers a really sturdy and really good
quality electric car then I would definitely buy it.

Prajwal (26:45)
That would depend on the price they are selling it at and the current condition of my own car.

Videep (26:52)
So most probably yes if they could give comparable features as it's competitive.

Mahima (27:06)
As of now for electric vehicle. I won't go with Maruti because it doesn't come as a trusted brand when
it comes to electric vehicle. Other brands have been doing the research and working on it from past so
many years so I won't be very comfortable.

Suryanshu (27:23)
And lastly Manasvi.

Manasvi (27:27)
I would also say the same that I don't think I would buy it in the near future. I think the EV market
needs to establish itself.

Suryanshu (27:41)
Okay. Next question. Based on your overall experience, would you like to refer this brand to another
person?

Sahil (27:52)
I feel that if this car would be that person's first car I would ask him to go for Maruti around about
70% 75% because I feel people generally buy their first car and it is generally Maruti only. So I would
ask that person to go for Maruti.

Aman (28:16)
Yes definitely, I am satisfied with the performance of my Maruti car and if needed I would definitely
recommend it.

Atul (28:25)
It depends. If their budget is low then I would refer them these Maruti cards. But if their budget are
not an issue then I would not refer these Maruti cars.

Prajwal (28:38)
I would recommend the car but not force them.

Himanshu (28:45)
Yes, I would also recommend the car recommend the brand Maruti for a car considering it would be
their first car. But just like I will also not force or be the promotor of it.

Mahima (29:00)
Yes, based on experience I would recommend the car, but again it depends upon are they looking for
budget friendly? What are they looking for exactly so it will depend.

Videep (29:08)
yes I would recommend this to other people if they have affordability like the budget issues, basically.

Manasvi (29:26)
And lastly monitoring I would also recommend this because of its value for money and the services
that provide especially in the smaller towns and cities.

Suryanshu (29:38)
Okay. Thank you.

Ananya.

00:04:41 Ananya
Approximately 4 years.

00:04:46 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:04:48 Saurav
It's around nine months.

00:04:51 Suryanshu
Siddhartha.

00:04:52 Siddhartha
It's two years.

00:04:57 Siddharth
It's been like 3, 3 and half years right.

00:05:01 Suryanshu
OK, and Sruti.

00:05:03 Sruti
Five years.

00:05:05 Suryanshu
OK, next question.

00:05:09 Suryanshu
What do you think are the reasons behind purchasing the car?

00:05:13 Suryanshu
Basically, here we are. Here we are trying to ask that what people basically buy the car for.

00:05:29 Suryanshu
Yeah, Sruti.
00:05:30 Sruti
lifestyle and personality.

00:05:36 Vuha
Yeah, same thing for an increase, I mean improve lifestyle and need to travel.

00:05:43 Suryanshu
Ananya.

00:05:45 Ananya
So, it's like family needs and also lifestyle.

00:05:50 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:05:52 Saurav
Yeah, same, it's a family need

00:05:54 Saurav
And Better safety on roads.

00:05:57 Suryanshu
Siddhartha.

00:05:59 Siddhartha
It is family needs and lifestyle.

00:06:05 Suryanshu
Siddharth.

00:06:05 Siddharth
it’s the same the family needs and also the lifestyle and personality.

00:06:11 Suryanshu
And Deepak
00:06:13 Deepak
For better commutation, and of course for family needs.

00:06:18 Suryanshu
OK, next question.

00:06:23 Suryanshu
What are the features factors that attracted you for buying this car that you own?

00:06:33 Suryanshu
Yeah, Sruti.

00:06:34 Sruti
Brand and performance.

00:06:37 Suryanshu
Ananya.

00:06:39 Ananya
So, brand, equipment, interior designs and also resale value.

00:06:47 Vuha
Brand, comfort and more technical options.

00:06:52 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:06:54 Saurav
Brand, safety, interior design.

00:07:00 Siddhartha
Oh, it's brand, performance. Interior and exterior design and also technology.

00:07:09 Deepak
Yeah, it's basically performance technology and brand.

00:07:14 Suryanshu
And lastly, Siddharth.

00:07:16 Siddharth
It was more like exterior and interior design and also for the safety and performance.

00:07:22 Suryanshu
OK.

00:07:24 Suryanshu
Next question.

00:07:27 Suryanshu
What is the overall satisfaction that you get from your car?

00:07:34 Suryanshu
Yes, Vuha.

00:07:36 Vuha
Yeah, I'm satisfied.

00:07:44 Siddhartha
Yeah, it's satisfied.

00:07:48 Siddharth
Yeah, we are like very satisfied with the purchase.

00:07:52 Suryanshu
Shruti, what about you?

00:07:54 Sruti
Very satisfied.

00:07:58 Deepak
Yeah, I'm also very satisfied with my car.

00:08:01 Suryanshu
Saurav.
00:08:04 Saurav
I'm satisfied with the car.

00:08:07 Siddhartha
And Ananya.

00:08:09 Ananya
I'm also very satisfied with the car.

00:08:13 Suryanshu
OK, next question.

00:08:17 Suryanshu
What attracted you to prefer your brand car that you are using?

00:08:23 Suryanshu
Yes, Deepak.

00:08:26 Deepak
Yeah, it's good in technology and performance is good.

00:08:34 Suryanshu
Ananya.

00:08:36 Ananya
So, it's like brand trust and international value.

00:08:41 Suryanshu
Siddhartha.

00:08:43 Siddhartha
Uh, it's more like the features or the factors are kind of. It is the brand the 1st and then the features of
the you know the car.

00:08:57 Vuha
Uh, model and design comfort, like bigger size and more performance.
00:09:03 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:09:05 Saurav
It's more like, uh, for the brand only.

00:09:09 Suryanshu
OK shruti.

00:09:11 Sruti
Same brand, performance and price also.

00:09:18 Siddharth
It was like mainly brand and also that was economical and more uncommon in India, that's why.

00:09:26 Suryanshu
OK.

00:09:31 Suryanshu
What comes in your mind?

00:09:32 Suryanshu
When you hear Maruti Suzuki.

00:09:41 Siddhartha
Oh, maybe a more economic car like Alto like that is the first car which comes in our mind because
there is a first car. Even my family used so I would say more kind of value for money or economic
cars.

00:10:00 Vuha
Yeah, as Siddhartha said value for money car like Swift desire since we had that in past.

00:10:07 Suryanshu
Ananya.

00:10:10 Ananya
I think it's more of like a common man, car and economical. Also, it has very basic and simple
designs.

00:10:18 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:10:20 Saurav
I think like it is more of affordable cars and providing best.

00:10:25 Saurav
After sale services.

00:10:29 Suryanshu
Sruti.

00:10:31 Sruti
Trustworthy, like brand and long-lasting car.

00:10:40 Deepak
Yeah, I used to have Maruti earlier and I I'll go for a better resale value and.

00:10:47 Deepak
Cheap maintenance.

00:10:51 Suryanshu
Siddharth.

00:10:53 Siddharth
It's like made for India kind of cars and also the safety and the brand also matter.

00:11:02 Suryanshu
Next question.

00:11:08 Suryanshu
Have you ever used marriage Suzuki car?

00:11:14 Suryanshu
Yes Siddhartha.

00:11:16 Siddhartha
Yeah, I have already answered this in the previous question. Sorry, but yeah, we used it is Maruti
Alto.

00:11:26 Vuha
Yes, swift desire.

00:11:32 Saurav
Yeah, it was alto.

00:11:38 Sruti
I have not used it.

00:11:42 Suryanshu
Ananya.

00:11:44 Ananya
Uh, yes. We also had first in desire.

00:11:54 Suryanshu
Deepak.

00:11:55 Siddharth
No, we didn't have any model from Maruti.

00:11:59 Suryanshu
OK, next question.

00:12:03 Suryanshu
In future, if opportunity arrives, will you prefer to buy Maruti Suzuki car?

00:12:16 Siddhartha
Oh, most preferably, yes, like uh, I am more fascinated towards the Suzuki desire for the way it is.

00:12:24 Siddhartha
But yeah, if there are a few more models that are launched similar to Maruti Suzuki desire, I would
prefer to buy.

00:12:35 Sruti
So, I've been using Hyundai. I liked it better but like I said earlier Maruti Suzuki is trust worthy brand.
So, I would yeah, I can like try it.

00:12:51 Vuha
I might not prefer because I've already moved to another brand now, I don't think.

00:12:56 Vuha
I'll prefer it.

00:12:59 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:13:01
Yeah, I.

00:13:02 Saurav
I also don't think that I will prefer Maruti Suzuki in future.

00:13:07 Suryanshu
Siddharth

00:13:09 Siddharth
I don't think so right now, but it depends on any breakthrough model. If Maruti Suzuki provides in
future.

00:13:16 Suryanshu
And Deepak.

00:13:18 Deepak
Not exactly, but yeah, I'm waiting for Maruti Suzuki.

00:13:22 Deepak
EV's
00:13:24 Suryanshu
OK, Ananya.

00:13:26 Ananya
So, I already had like two Maruti Suzuki cars. I don't want to use it any further.

00:13:34 Suryanshu
OK, next question.

00:13:37 Suryanshu
In your opinion, how?

00:13:39 Suryanshu
Does the after-sales service impact your buying decision?

00:13:44 Suryanshu
Yeah, Siddhartha.

00:13:45 Siddhartha
Uh, it impacts a lot according to me, because like it is not like a, you know a car is something which
needs frequent services and you know frequent repairs that has to be done. So yes, after sales services
impact a lot in.

00:13:59 Siddhartha
The buying decision.

00:14:03 Ananya
Uh, same for me like after sales service are very important and how close is the service centre and
how quicker services they provide?

00:14:11 Ananya
This is all very important. So yeah, after sales service is one major reason that you buy a brand or you
don't.

00:14:19 Ananyanext
Buy a brand.
00:14:23 Vuha
Yeah, after sales service is very important in maintenance, I think it's always a good option to own a
car which has proper after sales service at the nearby.

00:14:33 Vuha
Area so yeah.

00:14:38 Sruti
Yeah, same aftercare services important, and I think like for being loyal to a brand, it is the most
important aspect. If you want our customers to be loyal.

00:14:51 Deepak
For me also, it's one of the most impacting the.

00:14:55 Deepak
A prospective after sales service is really required by purchasing the car. So yes.

00:15:06 Siddharth
I think basically after sales services are equally important as selecting a model and the middle-class
family very much and the quality of services is also important then and then only you will. You will
be a return customer for the company.

00:15:21 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:15:23 Saurav
Yeah, I think that after services are very important like it will impact the buying decision because at
the end of the day, we need something like we just we.

00:15:33 Saurav
We don't have so much of time for these things, so we need service centres like in very not very far
from our home so I think it will impact but.

00:15:44 Suryanshu
OK, next question.
00:15:49 Suryanshu
How good are the after sales services compared to your expectation before buying it here? Basically,
we are trying to ask is that usually people have some preconceived notion about the expectation of the
sale services after sale services they have before buying it. And what was your experience after
buying that particular brand regarding after sale services?

00:16:10 Suryanshu
Yes, Siddhartha.

00:16:11 Siddhartha
Yeah, I think Maruti Suzuki is very well known for the kind of after sales services provide like the
kind of value for money.

00:16:18 Siddhartha
Or, you know the advertisements or anything, or the kind of word of mouth which is there for Maruti
Suzuki.

00:16:24 Siddhartha
And as I said, we already used alto and the kind of after sales services which we have received from
the company side.

00:16:32 Siddhartha
Is almost the same. There it is like it is one of the best classes I would say.

00:16:42 Ananya
Yeah, so like I said that we had two cars of Maruti and even in a Tier 3 city they provided like really
good service is the service centres were available and also Maruti has like good after sales services
but similarly the other brands of are also catching up. So, we had like Hyundai right now. So, there
are service centres for both.

00:17:02 Ananya
Closer as compared to Maruti and Hyundai

00:17:04 Ananya
So, I think people are catching up on after sales services in each brand.

00:17:13 Sruti
Yeah, so for Hyundai I have experienced a very good after sales service so no complaints about that.

00:17:23 Vuha
Yeah, for Maruti after sales services are up to the expectations of the customer.

00:17:27 Vuha
Also, for Tata, yeah there's no problem for that.

00:17:34 Deepak
In my opinion after sales services are costlier than what they tell, uh, before buying it. So, it's a
problem for all companies, I guess.

00:17:46 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:17:48 Saurav
Yeah, for Tata like I have no complaints regarding the full services because they're fulfilling the
expectations according to me.

00:17:57 Suryanshu
And Siddharth.

00:17:59 Siddharth
As I said that we have a Ford and the services are pretty good, but the only problem is there are less
services service centre as compared to Maruti. If you take an example.

00:18:10 Siddharth
And it's a slow process by Ford, but the quality that they provide, it's worth it.

00:18:19 Suryanshu
OK, next question.

00:18:23 Suryanshu
What features your car?

00:18:24 Suryanshu
Have that you think can be.
00:18:26 Suryanshu
Of a competitive advantage.

00:18:27 Suryanshu
For the brand that you own.

00:18:33 Suryanshu
Yes, Ananya.

00:18:34 Ananya
So, for Hyundai. Firstly, it has some international value and another thing is that it makes very
luxurious and comfortable products, so people generally vouch for that.

00:18:46 Suryanshu
Deepak.

00:18:47 Deepak
Yeah, Hyundai has good pickup in diesel. Diesel engines also so good diesel engines.

00:18:56 Vuha
Yeah, for tata, I think new features like updated engine and some technical features automatic.

00:19:02 Vuha
Things are more like yeah.

00:19:10 Sruti
Yeah, mileage and like performance and luxury and comfort that.

00:19:15 Sruti
Hyundai cars provide.

00:19:20 Siddhartha
Oh, for Tatas, I would say first one would be the brand and next one would be the technology and you
know the updates which they have in the. You know in the technology.

00:19:31 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:19:35 Saurav
For Tata I guess the brand image and the features like the technology as well as safety features, they
are providing specially.

00:19:47 Siddharth
Yeah, in the in the Ford brand I can tell that the Ford has a reputation for the safety and also in India
they're launching very economical cars like yes, I have said that it costs about.

00:19:59 Siddharth
10 lacs only.

00:20:00 Siddharth
So yeah, I think for an Indian consumer, the ford model is actually same good as the any Maruti or
any Hyundai model.

00:20:11 Suryanshu
OK.

00:20:12 Suryanshu
Next question.

00:20:15 Suryanshu
If Maruti starts selling electric vehicle, will you prefer to buy it?

00:20:26 Vuha
Uh, I may not buy immediately. Maybe I'll see once the model is released and I'll buy if I like the
performance and features.

00:20:37 Deepak
Yeah, as I earlier told I was waiting for electric vehicles from Maruti because with the scale that
Marty Suzuki brings in the electron electric vehicle infrastructure will grow in India. So yes,
definitely.

00:20:50 Suryanshu
Ananya.
00:20:52 Ananya
I mean, I agree with what Vuha said, like not immediately. I would want to see the features and how
good is technology and efficiency of the product.

00:21:01 Ananya
Also, the infrastructure is not yet ready for EV's in India. So yeah, may be in near future but not
immediately.

00:21:11 Sruti
Uh, yeah. If it is economical, and yeah provides good battery performance.

00:21:17 Sruti
And also, yeah, not immediately.

00:21:19 Sruti
After some time.

00:21:22 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:21:25 Saurav
Yeah, before looking at Maruti I would first see that what is infrastructure building in our country
regarding the electric vehicles and after that I would if I would see Maruti would release a vehicle I
will see after it's feature then then I will decide to buy it.

00:21:43 Siddhartha
Yeah, first I would see other kind of performance. It is giving a like the obvious answer is no. I
wouldn't prefer to buy it immediately, but based upon the performance and the kind of you know
value that is being provided by it, then maybe I can buy it.

00:22:01 Suryanshu
And Siddharth.

00:22:03 Siddharth
It's a kind of same as Siddhartha said, not immediately like, not for the coming five or six years in the
future.
00:22:09 Siddharth
But yeah, if the performance is good, if it's economical, better than the petrol or diesel they are
providing. Yeah, I may think of it, but not immediately.

00:22:17 Siddharth
Right now.

00:22:18 Suryanshu
OK, next question.

00:22:23 Suryanshu
Based on your overall experience, which brand do you like to refer?

00:22:29 Suryanshu
Or would you like to refer to other people?

00:22:38 Suryanshu
Yes, Sruti

00:22:39 Sruti
Yeah, saying that I'm using Hyundai so I have no complaints and yeah, so I would refer it to others.

00:22:49 Suryanshu
Siddharth.

00:22:50 Siddharth
As I said, I have a very satisfactory experience with Ford and maybe if you want to buy any other car,
then I'll go with the Ford, but the better model this time. But I won't think that I don't buy any other
brand as of now.

00:23:06 Deepak
Yeah, though I'm very satisfied with Hyundai’s performance, but I'll prefer I'll refer.

00:23:13 Deepak
Volkswagen cars because of their driving quality.
00:23:21 Vuha
As I'm currently satisfied with Tata Harrier, maybe I'll refer Tata.

00:23:27 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:23:29 Saurav
Seem like I'm all satisfied with Tata Nexon, so I would suggest Tata only.

00:23:36 Suryanshu
Ananya.

00:23:39 Ananya
Yeah, I'm a very satisfied with Hyundai so I will suggest Hyundai. But recently Maruti also has
launched some nice brands like Baleno. So nice product like Baleno. So yeah, I could also
recommend that as well.

00:23:57 Siddhartha
I think it is based upon the economic situation of that family like I would be biased based upon their
economic situation in budget.

00:24:04 Siddhartha
if they are free of that, then I would prefer you know Tata and also few products of Maruti as Ananya
was mentioning.

00:24:15 Siddhartha
Baleno is one of the you know finest cars which Maruti has come up with it. So, if there are no budget
restrictions then yes, I would prefer more of Tata products and a few.

00:24:25 Siddhartha
Of Maruti products like Desire and yeah, Baleno.

00:24:29 Suryanshu
OK, so before concluding we would like to ask one last question that as some of you said that you
were having Maruti cars.

00:24:38 Suryanshu
And then you switched. So, what were the reasons that made you switch from Maruti to other?

00:24:53 Siddhartha
Oh yeah, it is the comfort and the technology or like. Currently we are using a non-gear one. It doesn't
mean that Maruti doesn't have one, but when we weighed both the pros and cons of or you know both
the products like the Celerio or you know the tata tigor or which we are using a. I think there are more
of better.

00:25:12 Siddhartha
Things which we had seen in you know Tata Tigor. So that is the reason that we had switched towards
tata.

00:25:22 Vuha
Yeah, the same thing like comfort, bigger size and good design with more technical options and all.

00:25:31 Deepak
Yeah, we wanted to try something new, and of course Hyundai comes with better technology. So, we
went for it.

00:25:40 Suryanshu
Saurav.

00:25:42 Saurav
I think for the better technology that I have switched from Maruti.

00:25:48 Suryanshu
Ananya.

00:25:50 Ananya
I think it was all about brand image and secondly comfort like Maruti had a very basic brand image as
compared to Hyundai and Hyundai products are much more comfortable and also stylish in terms of
exterior as well as interior.

00:26:09 Suryanshu
OK, Vuha you have given your answer no.

00:26:14 Vuha
Yeah, yeah, sorry.

00:26:26 Suryanshu
Thank you.

Depth Interviews
DI-1: Nikhil Sharma

Akshara (00:04) : Good afternoon and welcome to our depth interview session. Thanks for taking the
time to join us to talk about the purchasing behavior and factors involved in buying Maruti Suzuki
car. My name is Akshara Gupta and assisting me are Rohit and Suryanshu. We are from omega
marketing agency. We are conducting this depth interview to determine the factors influencing the
consumer behavior in buying Maruti Suzuki car from three segments in India. There are no wrong
answers, but rather different point of view. Please feel free to share your point of view. We are
recording the session because we don't want to miss any comments. You will be assured of complete
confidentiality.
Please give a brief introduction about yourself including name, age native place number of members
in the family and annual income of the family.
Nikhil (00:51) : Hi, I'm nikhil sharma. I am 25 years old, I'm from Delhi and there are two members
in my family and my annual income is between 10 to 15 lakhs per annum

Akshara (01:07): Please can you tell the number of four wheelers owned by your family?

Nikhil (01:13) : We currently own one four wheeler

Akshara (01:19) : and which Maruti Suzuki model do you own?

Nikhil (01:23) : I have a 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Alpha.

Akshara (01:30): From how long you are using this vehicle.
Nikhil (01:35): This is the third year

Akshara (01:39): In future for how long you will be using this vehicle.

Nikhil (01:45): So, considering it's a petrol variant, and it is going to be legal for the next 12 years, I
plan on using this model at least for the next eight to 10 years.

Akshara (02:00): And what is your perception about Maruti Suzuki cars

Nikhil (02:05): my perception about Maruti Suzuki cars is that they are great economy value for
money and reliable cars with affordable maintenance and repair costs. And and they are no worry
cars. They don't give you any unnecessary troubles.

Akshara (02:32): As you told that you bought your car in 2019. So what are the features of factors
that attracted you for buying Maruti Suzuki car?

Nikhil (02:41): Okay, so the features that attracted me the most are that Ciaz is a very good looking
car first of all, other than that it has great performance in terms of if there is a 1.2 liter cup, a 1.2 liter
engine, which puts out great power. It has decent tech in it, it has apple carplay android auto and LED
headlights. So basically whatever I needed in that car, it has good safety aspects also. And other than
that in another feature that attracted me the most was that it was a little bit cheaper in price than its
competitors.

Akshara (03:29): Okay, and basically what is the main reason behind anyone purchasing the car
Nikhil (03:38): I actually had another car. I had a previous Hyundai with me that was driving for the
past 10 years. So I had it was time to upgrade to another car. So I was looking for a car for some time
now. And Ciaz was a great alternative. I had driven one of my friend's car so I really liked the car. So
that's why I had purchased this car. So my old one was getting my other car was getting old, so I had
to get a new car.

Akshara  (04:12): Okay, what do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of quality and technology

Nikhil (04:20): I think Marutis quality and technology is above average, it's quite good in terms of
quality, their products have no complaints, but I won't trade them very high on the quality scale. There
there are certain things that they can definitely improve upon. And in terms of technology I feel. All
Japanese cars have great technology and Maruti Suzuki being Japanese also has great technology.

Akshara (04:55): And what are your views about safety in the Maruti Suzuki

Nikhil (05:01): In terms of safety, there are certainly there are enough number of airbags in the car
and there are features like abs and EBD. However, in terms of crash safety, I haven't heard the best of
things for durability. I'm not too sure about the safety, but  I'll be honest, I'm not too confident. It has a
decent it has a four star rating from Encap. But I'm not too confident on its safety.

Akshara (05:38): What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of its performance?
Nikhil (05:44): Performance is quite good. In the segment, I am satisfied with its performance. It's
zero to 60 time its acceleration whenever if I'm on the in in city driving or if I am on Highway drives I
have never been let down by its power.
Akshara (06:04): And what do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of its design?
Nikhil (06:09): I feel I cannot talk about the whole Maruti Suzuki, but I can talk about my car Ciaz its
design is very elegant, very decent. And it's very attractive as well. It doesn't look very Japanese, if I
may say so. And it's a very timeless design.
Akshara (06:34): What do you think about the resale value of Maruti Suzuki?
Nikhil (06:39): Maruti Suzuki cars generally have a good resale value because especially in their
premium segment cars such as Vitara Brezza, or Ciaz they have a quite good resale values and I have
also got gotten a few offers from my close friends if I'm interested in selling my car because the car is
that good and they are there are huge waiting with dealers dealership for new cars. So I would say it
has a great resale value.
Akshara (07:14): Can you please talk about the mileage of Maruti Suzuki
Nikhil (07:19): I think everybody knows that Maruti Suzuki is synonymous with mileage. And in
terms of mileage, it offers me excellent mileage and it was also one of the factors that attracted me to
Maruti Suzuki that how effortlessly it gives out mileage. Even if I drive a little bit hard or
aggressively, it still puts out a very good mileage
Akshara (07:46): And your car is of which Variant diesel petrol hybrid.
Nikhil (07:48): My car is petrol.
Akshara (07:49): Now let me ask about what do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of its
maintenance,
Nikhil (07:51): In terms of maintenance, it's very reasonable. All the services that have recently
gotten done, in the initially year they were free and then after that all the services are not costed me a
lot in terms of like I have previously had a Hyundai, hatchback before this, and considering this is a
sedan and from a segment above that, it still cost the same to service. So I'm really happy about that.
And the maintenance is easy, and it's quite fast, it doesn't take too long for the service center to
maintain service and repair this car.
Akshara  (08:47): Now before buying your Maruti Suzuki car, what kind of source of information did
you collect?
Nikhil (08:52): I collected information from the dealership from the online portals from my, from few
of my friends as well. And from dealerships as well. So I collected information about its performance,
how it drives on the road, because not everything on the internet that you read is correct. So I also
talked to a few of my friends who had already been owning the car about how the real life ownership
experience and I also read a few reviews and watch some YouTube videos on the internet.
Akshara (09:33): And for how long did you collect this pre purchase information?
Nikhil (09:39): I think I I researched about at least two to three months before I made my mind. So
yeah, it took me two to three months in collecting this information.
Akshara  (09:54): As you told about the information that you collected, so does the past sales
performance of company affect your buying decision
Nikhil (10:07): Yes definitely like one of the factors that Maruti Ciaz is such a hot selling cars that
there are huge waiting lists for that car. So that was also another factors that influence mean because
since so many people are willing to shell out their money for this car so it definitely has an impact that
there must be something good going on with this car. That's why so many people are buying this car
Akshara (10:41): Do you have faith in Indian tire manufacturers or do you prefer multinationals?
Nikhil (10:48): In my personal opinion, I would prefer multinationals since Indian car manufacturers
considering that Tata is another major car manufacturers they have been doing quite good in recent
years, but they haven't had the best of reputation. So and I would go for the multinational route as
their products are of much higher quality and much higher durability.
Akshara (11:16): Do you think the promotional strategies of marches up is effective?
Nikhil (11:23): For me, personally, I haven't been I haven't any face any other promotional strategies
for today because I don't read too much newspaper or I don't watch TV that much. But and I don't
think Maruti Suzuki is looking to promote their products there anyway selling.
Akshara (11:50): Well, do you think that brand image impacts the buying decision of a car
Nikhil (11:56): it the most certainly does. Like as you talked about multinational engine or factors the
brand image it definitely plays a very important role. And since Suzuki is a Japanese brand. So it
definitely gives you some certain sense of pace that that your car is well designed and it has Japanese
technology in it so it is reliable and you can trust it.
Akshara (12:25) As you already are told that you were having a Hyundai car and then you shifted to
Maruti Suzuki. So what attracted you to prefer Maruti brand among other brands?
Nikhil (12:36): I have been hearing great reviews about maruti cars recently and as I told you, a few
of my friends had already owned this car. So I had always heard good things about this car and when I
drove their cards it also it really made me realize that how good these cars are. So that's why I shifted
towards Maruti and in the great price and the value for many aspect
Akshara (13:06):  while purchasing the car who influenced you the most?
Nikhil (13:12): I would not say anybody influenced me but yeah, I definitely took advice of a few of
my friends who had owned this car earlier
Akshara (13:24): when why buying your new car did you what other brands Did you consider
purchasing
Nikhil (13:31): other brand that was considered were Honda Hyundai and Kia.
Akshara (13:47):  Now which brand according to you are giving the most competition to Maruti
Suzuki in India
Nikhil (13:54): I feel definitely Hyundai is the number one brand that has gained about competition to
Maruti in India. And other than that, brands like Tata and Mahindra are also giving a good
competition to Maruti.
Akshara (14:11): Do you think that the cars of Maruti Suzuki are capable to attract the new
generation
Nikhil (14:18): I think I'm neutral towards this because I'm not too sure whether it has able to attract
today's generation or not because because Marutis it is not ours It was definitely one of our parents
first cars. So I'm not too sure if it is still in that Maruti still has that persona of being an old man's car
or if it is able to attract No but I can definitely say for myself that I consider myself younger and I'm
owning that car. So I think it can
Akshara (14:56): according to you while purchasing the car, what factors one should consider
Nikhil (15:02): I think while purchasing a car one should definitely consider their usage that they are
going to use the car for. And how long are they going to drive a car I mean, how long is that commute
Or how long are they going to drive for and in terms of what features or the basic safety measures do
they require in their car and the price budget And I think these factors one should consider before
buying the car and and the brand image, Which brand do they personally align with
Akshara (15:42):  Well, according to you in each segment of Maruti Suzuki, which are the best
model, and why
Nikhil (15:49): I think in the economy segment, Wagnon R is one of the best sellers, because, it has
high ground clearance and it has a good it's a good built car and for his which is offered for
comparatively less, less money. So it has great economy features. And for value for money segment. I
think swift would be one of the best cars in the Value for money segments. And there are Swifts
everywhere you can't go go out on the roads and you cannot see Swift it cannot happen. Since it is
such a popular model. I think it offers great value for money. And in the premium segment. I believe
Ciaz is one of the best models that Maruti has, because it offers everything to you. And it's a good
package and it is priced also reasonably well. I think these are the models which are best.
Akshara (16:57):  So do you feel the introduction of more models in each segment will improve the
sales of Maruti Suzuki?
Nikhil (17:06): I don't think that introduction of more models will improve sales so much this is okay
because they already have quite a good number of models in each segment that they already serve.
And I think one segment that they can work upon is developing an compact SUV for to rival Hyundai
Creta and Kia Celtos. I think that segment introducing your brand that would be a good competition to
the other manufacturers.
Akshara (17:40): Do you think that Maruti Suzuki is lagging in any of the features?
Nikhil (17:48): Not necessarily. However, if if I could, I would definitely prefer the options of option
of having ventilated seats and an air purifier and certain other luxury features that they could provide.
This is okay. So that would be great. And in terms of the rear seat comfort, like the rear seat
passengers could also have some extra features. That would be great.
Akshara (18:17): So these are your suggestion regarding new extra features. Right?
Nikhil (18:21): Right.
Akshara (18:23): Okay, state the problems faced by you in your present car, if there are any.
Nikhil (18:32): I don't think there are any problems as of now that I that I know however, I faced a
problem in the initial days of my ownership that within three months of buying the car, one of my
speakers stopped working and I had to get it fixed. I had called my dealer a dealership and they took
my car and they got it fixed within I think a day or two it was good service. But as of now I don't
think there is any problem with my car.
Akshara (19:07): What is the overall satisfaction that you get from your Maruti Suzuki car
Nikhil (19:16): I think I get good satisfaction while driving the car. As I get older in terms of
performance safety design, it satisfies me on all aspects and in terms of price also it's not it is not too
big of a dent on my wallet. So, I am overall satisfied with the car.
Akshara (19:35): And are you satisfied with the price range offered by the margin car?
Nikhil (19:41): Yes, I think Maruti Suzuki have offers cars from anywhere and starting from I think
three to four lakhs and the go up till 14-15 lakhs I think in the at least in the initial economy segments
Maruti offers A whole lot of models and with different price ranges. So they have a car for everybody
who's out there looking for a car except for the super premium segment
Akshara (20:13): and in your opinion, how does the after sale service impact the buying decision?
Nikhil (20:20): I think it has a major role in impacting the buying decision as I already knew that after
sales service of Maruti is quite good. And I have heard good things about it. So, that was also another
factor influenced me in buying Maruti Suzuki car
Akshara (20:43): How good are the after sales Services compared to expectation before buying it?
Nikhil (20:48): Sorry, could your repeat?
Akshara (20:51):  How good are the after sale services compared to your expectation before buying it
here? I am trying to ask is that you certainly had some expectation before buying the car about after
sales services and after buying it, how are you facing it right now, but how are they good or not?
Nikhil (21:08): Right. So, I think they are at my they have met my expectations what I expected is
what I bought and I think I have no complaints in terms of after sales service of Maruti
Akshara (21:34): in future would you buy the car of the same brand or would you like to switch to
another brand?
Nikhil (21:30): In future I would have if I could I would definitely have a Maruti Suzuki car in my
garage always. However, I would like to switch to other brand as well. I won't mind switching to
another brand.
Akshara (21:50): If Maruti starts start selling the electric vehicle, will you prefer to buy it?
Nikhil (21:56): Definitely why not. Currently a EVs are definitely the next big thing and there are
certain EVs by other manufacturers that are doing quite good and Maruti also offers hybrid engines in
a few in the diesel model, so they do offer a hybrid engine so I am really keen on when will Maruti
get a newbie  and if it is very good, I might just have a great one.
Akshara (22:28): Based on your own or experience, would you like to refer this band to another
person?
Nikhil (22:34): Yes, definitely. Definitely I have. Overall I have a very good experience with Maruti.
So I would definitely recommend this brand to any other person.
Akshara (22:50): Okay, so with this question, we conclude the session. Thank you for your answers.

Rohith(00:06)
Good Evening  Jaswanth and welcome to our Depth Interview session.
Thanks for taking the time to join us to talk  about the  purchasing behaviour and factors involved  in
buying Maruti Suzuki Cars. My name is Rohith and assisting  me is Akshara Gupta . We are  from
with Omega  Market agency. We are conducting this depth  interview  to determine the factors
influencing the consumer behaviour in buying Maruti Suzuki Cars from 3(Economy , Value for
Money, Premium) Segments in India .There are no wrong answers but rather differing points of view.
Please feel free to share your point of view. We are recording the session because we don't want to
miss any  comments of yours. You may be assured of complete confidentiality.
Okay, let us start this interview. Please give you a brief introduction about yourself, like name, age,
native place, number of members in your family and annual income  of your family.

Jaswanth(01:00)
As you said, my name is Jaswanth and I'm 22 years old and I'm from Andhra Pradesh . I'm from a
small family of four. My family income ranges between six to eight lakhs and you start with the
questions now

Rohith(01:17)
Okay. Number of four wheelers owned by your family?

Jaswanth(01:22)
My family owns a single car.

Rohith(01:34)
Which Maruti Suzuki model do you own?

Jaswanth(01:40)
Maruti Suzuki Alto, I think it's a 2013 or prior model.

Rohith(01:44)
From how long you are using this vehicle?

Jaswanth(01:47)
I have  been using it from past ten years.

Rohith(01:51)
In future, for how long will you be using this vehicle? Like how far you will be using this vehicle?

Jaswanth(01:58)
Not more than five years somewhere around  three years, but surely  not more than 5 years.

Rohith(02:07)
What is your perception about Maruti Suzuki Cars?

Jaswanth(02:15)
I consider them as economic cars. They are good for mileage and they're better suited for family
purposes, not suited for long journeys and maintenance is also low.

Rohith(02:33)
What are the features or factors that attracted you for buying Maruti Suzuki car you own?

Jaswanth(02:39)
While we are buying a car we were looking for a car in an economic class. So we looked at mileage
and price and some basic features like air conditioning and FM and some music.

Rohith(02:57)
What was the main reason behind purchasing the car?

Jaswanth(03:01)
The main reason would be the price and the mileage and there are some basic features. As I said
earlier, we were looking for an economy class for mostly price and mileage.

Rohith(03:18)
What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of quality and technology?

Jaswanth(03:23)
In terms of quality, Maruti Suzuki  cars are good .But in terms of technology, I feel they are lacking
behind. Like currently they have cars in good technology in  their premium range, but majority of
them are not good at technology, but the quality is good.

Rohith(03:48)
What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki  in terms of safety?

Jaswanth(03:53)
When it comes to safety like few cars in the economy section, when it comes to cars dated back to
2015 or even 2019 models, there are no airbags in the cars. I think like safety is on the lower side, not
the best safest car.

Rohith(04:19)
What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of performance?

Jaswanth(04:24)
Performance also depends upon the class. I think our car like it gives good mileage and it's good for
short journeys, but it's not good for lengthy journeys. And while you're going on guard roads, you
need some torque power to get through the mountains. In terms of performance, when it comes to
economy classes, they lack in terms of performance, but premium cars are good.

Rohith(04:53)
What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of design?

Jaswanth(05:00)
In terms of design also, I like to categorize them into two groups, like in the economy and value for
money section. The cars are really small. You'll feel uncomfortable if you are really tall, but when the
sedan class it's good.

Rohith(05:21)
What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki in terms of resale value?

Jaswanth(05:26)
Resale value again, it depends on the class but as time progresses, the resale value goes down when
compared to other brands. Compared to other brands, the resale value over time decreases its like my
perception.

Rohith(05:44)
What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki  in terms of mileage?

Jaswanth(05:48)
In terms of mileage , yeah, it gives good mileage. It is best for economic class.

Rohith(05:56)
What do you feel about Maruti Suzuki  in terms of maintenance?

Jaswanth(06:02)
Yeah, the maintenance cost is really low, but in our case our car was dated back to 2013 or 2012. I
guess we are finding it difficult now to find the spare parts and as the time progress, it's getting
difficult to find the spare parts for the old models.

Rohith(06:25)
What kind of sources of information did you collect before buying the Maruti Suzuki Car?

Jaswanth(06:36)
We asked a few friends for their perception and we went to the dealers. Before buying the car, we
went to a couple of dealers and just check the prices and the service after the sale service. After that
we bought the car.

Rohith(06:57)
How long did you collected pre purchase information? Like how before you started collecting the
information?

Jaswanth(07:07)
Maybe two to three months.

Rohith(07:11)
Did you have faith in  Indian car manufacturers or do you prefer multinational?

Jaswanth(07:17)
Indian car manufacturers are really good like Tata. They're having really good sedan class and
premium classes coming from Tata. But I prefer outside companies from outside India when
compared to Tata in terms of technology and performance.

Rohith(07:48)
Does the company past sales performance affect your buying decision?
Jaswanth(07:53)
No, I only look the car features and price range and after service , not the sales.

Rohith(08:06)
Do you think promotional strategies of Maruti  Suzuki is effective?

Jaswanth(08:11)
Like I've seen some advertisements of Maruti Suzuki in the TV and on the newspapers, but there is no
differentiation I feel like. I feel advertisement are common when compared to other brands. There
isn't any differentiating factor that attracted me. I said it's not that effective. I've seen that but not that
effective.

Rohith(08:42)
Does Brand Image impact the car buying decision?

Jaswanth(08:47)
Yes , I feel brand image does have a bigger impact when it comes to car. It gives the trust and people
when you buy a car which has high investment, people like to buy cars from a bigger brand you know
which ensures them trust.

Rohith(09:08)
What attracted you to prefer Maruti  brand among other brands?

Jaswanth(09:14)
Economy mostly like the low price and the mileage.

Rohith(09:19)
Who influenced you while buying the Maruti Suzuki  car?

Jaswanth(09:26)
There isn't any influence but family conditions maybe like we are from middle class only, we are
looking for a car and economy class so we compared a few other cars from Hyundai and Tata. We
decided to buy Maruti Suzuki.

Rohith(09:45)
What other brands did you consider while purchasing Maruti Suzuki Car?

Jaswanth(09:50)
As I said earlier, we compared two other brands ,Tata and Hyundai. We compared price and the
mileage and some basic features like air conditioning and some radio and USB. So we finally decided
to buy Maruti Suzuki.

Rohith (10:12)
Which brands, according to you are giving the most competition to Maruti Suzuki  in India?

Jaswanth(10:21)
Hyundai , Tata and there are some economy cars coming in Ford as well. I think they are the main
competitors.

Rohith (10:39)
Do you think the cars of Maruti Suzuki  are capable to attract today's generation?

Jaswanth(10:45)
Again, it depends on the price range.  Cars like Swift  Dzire ,they are attracting a lot of people from
the present generation who are in the middle class. Premium wise, I don't feel Suzuki is doing a great
job.

Rohith (11:07)
According to you while purchasing cars. What factors one should consider?

Jaswanth(11:13)
It depends upon the person again. Like if he needs if he's looking for economic class he can go for the
price and mileage or if he's looking for technology, he should be looking for more premium cars.
When it comes to safety, he should be looking at the model available of airbags .Now mostly every
car has airbags in the premium section and value for money. And when it comes to the multinational
cars there are more advanced technology. It depends upon the person again what he's looking for.

Rohith (11:56)
According to you, in each segment of Maruti Suzuki that is economy, value for money and premium,
which are the best models and why?

Jaswanth(12:07)
When it comes to economy, alto is the best although from the past times as well in the present time,
Alto, they've been upgrading it well the current model of Alto is also good in the economy section and
when it comes to value for money, we have Swift and Swift desire. Swift comes from a cheaper price
and Swift desire. It has more comfort than Swift and the technology is almost the same. And when it
comes to premium, I think XL Six is the best currently because of its safety features and interior and
even the exterior design and the technology involved.

Rohith (12:32)
Do you feel the introduction of more models in each segment will improve sales of Maruti Suzuki?

Jaswanth(12:38)
No, I don't think so. Like improving their current models will be good. I think one more model in the
premium class which is highly premium with Sophisticated technology and some classic features,
more space , speakers . One  more model addition  will be fine just in the premium section, not too
many.

Rohith (13:05)
Do you think that Maruti Suzuki is lagging in any of the features? And if yes, would you like to give
any suggestions regarding those features?

Jaswanth(13:15)
Nowadays, there are most of the features in the car. So , I don't like to point out a particular feature,
but the quality of features must improve .

Rohith (13:37)
State the problems faced by you in your present car. If there are any.

Jaswanth(13:43)
Present car like it's an old model. It was performing well when we bought the car. Now there are
constant repairs as the time progress like it's been over ten years and it's finding difficult to find spare
parts and service kind of problem, now.

Rohith (14:04)
What is the overall satisfaction that you get from your Maruti Suzuki car?

Jaswanth(14:15)
I'd like to give two ratings now. I think in the first five years it's like seven or eight out of ten. But in
the present time ,  I give it like five out of ten.

Rohith (14:33)
Are you satisfied with the price ranges offered by Maruti Suzuki ?

Jaswanth(14:38)
Yes, I'm satisfied with the price range but they can introduce more premium cars with higher prices. I
think people don't mind buying cars for the premium price with good technology and features.

Rohith (14:56)
In your opinion, how does the after sales service impact the buying decision?

Jaswanth(15:02)
I think it's the most important one like very few people go to other services than the company, like
most of the customers go to the company service station ,when it comes to services.  Initially there
will be very few service required. But as the time progresses, as I said mentioned earlier, There will
be a lot of changes you need to do in terms of spare parts and  all. So after sales services, it is an
important part in the sales. You should be able to show the customers that trust that you can solve any
problem that may arise in the future. There needs to be trust and the company should be able to keep
that trust.

Rohith (15:57)
How good are the after sales services compared to your expectation before buying it?

Jaswanth(16:03)

after sales service like I was expecting a good after sales service when I bought the car. It was good
initially as the time progressed. Our car is a very old model one so we find it difficult for the spare
parts. So now we are visiting private car services other than the Suzuki one. So initially it was good.
As the time progressed it became difficult for them to also give us spare parts.

Rohith (16:25)
In future, would you buy the car of the same brand or would you like to switch to another brand? If
so, why?

Jaswanth(16:32)
Yeah, I'd like to switch to another brand. When we bought our first car, we're looking for an economy
car. I think now we might be able to afford a premium one. So I'd like to move to another brand with
good features and more sophisticated features.

Rohith (16:52)
If Maruti Suzuki  starts the selling of electrical vehicles, Will you prefer to buy it.

Jaswanth(17:00)

Again it depends upon the performance like the charging and availability of the charge stations. It
depends again completely on the performance and opposites.

Rohith (17:12)
Based on your overall experience, would you like to refer this brand to others?

Jaswanth(17:18)

Yes, if the person is looking for an economy car and cars in a value for money class, I will definitely
recommend Maruti Suzuki okay, but not for a premium.

Rohith (17:31)
Thank you, Jaswanth, for your time. Thanks.

bodywork and interior. It succeeded the Maruti Alto of the first generation, and various changes were
made to the 796 ccs (48.6 cu in) engine. With the model update, the price of the Alto, which was
already India's best-selling car, was reduced. Several strategies for lowering the cost were discovered,
including reducing the weight of each component by one gram and constructing their robots to
manufacture the car. In several export regions, this model is also known as the Suzuki Alto 800.
Swift

The Maruti Suzuki Swift made its debut in India. On May 25, 2005, the same 1.3-liter SOHC 16-
valve G13BB petrol engine was powered by the Maruti Esteem. In early 2007, Maruti launched the
Swift with a 1.3-liter Fiat DDiS turbo diesel engine sourced from Fiat. Maruti upgraded the 1.3-liter
petrol engine with the more modern 1.2-litre DOHC (later models have VVT) K12M engine in 2010
to comply with the new BS-IV emission standards.

XL6

The new Maruti Suzuki XL6 is powered by a K15 petrol engine that complies with BS6 and features
Progressive Smart Hybrid technology with a lithium-ion battery. The engine has a peak torque of 138
Nm and produces 105 horsepower. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed
automatic transmission as an option.
