AVL 200 Specifications

The AVL-200 is designed for mounting in a vehicle for on-line Vehicle Tracking. The AVL-200 is a Global
Locating Unit and provides its absolute location with an accuracy of 5-10 meters in any part of the world.
AVL-200 can be used in various applications such as Truck Fleet Management, Taxi Service etc.

The AVL-200 works on two basic technologies i.e. GPS
& GSM/GPRS. The AVL-200 uses the GPS receiver to
compute its position in terms of Latitude and Longitude.
The LAT/LONG information is then sent over-the-air
using the GSM/GPRS modem through the network to a
programmed destination number or IP, where at, the
position may be plotted on a computer screen with the
Geographical map having major landmarks/Roads
marked in the background.
In case of GPRS Non-Coverage, the LAT/LONG
information is logged in a non-volatile memory (3600
locations). This data will be automatically sent to the
Control Centre as soon as the Vehicle moves to a
GPRS Coverage area.
It also supports voice interface. A handset is provided.
The vehicle driver can make a call and speak.
Similarly, the driver can also be called up for giving
necessary instructions.
An alarm button is also provided on the AVL-200 for
emergency situations, where-in the driver has just to
press the button and the emergency/SOS message will
be sent to Control Center Number/ Server.
The AVL-200 supports a RS232C port for configuration.
It also supports various inputs for sensing other
devices.
It operates on the vehicle battery.
MAIN FEATURES
• GPS Receiver supports 16 channel All-in-View
Tracking. It does simultaneous tracking of every
possible satellite in view. The high sensitivity and
dynamic range reception makes it possible to use
this system in inhospitable areas. The GPS
receiver provides NMEA standard data message.
• The main controller validates the data received
from the GPS receiver and logs only the valid
data. The controller supports multiple serial ports.
One for acquiring data from GPS receiver and the
other for downloading of the logged data onto a
server PC through GPRS. The data logging may
be configured to be based on time or distance
traveled by the vehicle.
• A DC-DC converter is also provided. This
converter has the following specifications.
Input: 9—30 V DC
Output: 3.6V, 3A
The converter allows the unit to be operated
comfortably on vehicle battery.

• It support a SMA connectors for connecting the
GPS, GSM Antenna. The GPS & GSM antenna
are provided along with the unit.
