Pre-convocation activities (9th Nov. 2021)

9:00–10:00 Issuing Uttariya (Stole) to the degree recipients
9:30 Marshals to ensure the following:
1. Graduating students will have to be present at the venue;
2. Dress code of Graduating students;
12:00-12:45 Lunch
12:45–14:00 Marshals to ensure the following:
1. Graduating students occupy their allotted seats marked with their names and roll
numbers after rehearsal for convocation;
2. Lineup of graduating students for receiving the degrees in order and
3. Recipients of the Medals and the Awards are ready soon after receiving their
degrees.
14:00–14:10 Institute's Videos, messages from Faculty members and Students.

Convocation Activities
14:25–14:30 Academic Procession enters the Convocation Hall, and Institute song is played until all
the members of Academic Procession occupy their respective seats.

All stand up for the National Anthem. National Anthem is played.

After National Anthem, all occupy their respective seats.

14:30 Chairperson, BOG announces: “I declare the 9th Convocation of Indian Institute of
Technology Indore, OPEN.”
14:31-14:50 Welcome speech and report presentation by the Director.
14:50-15:02 Chairperson BOG, deliver his address.
15:02-15:04 Introduction of the Guest of Honour (Advisor to the Prime Minister, Government of
India, Shri Amit Khare) by the Registrar.
15:04-15:14 Address by the Guest of Honour
15:14-15:16 Introduction of the Chief Guest (Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of
India, Prof. K. VijayRaghavan FRS) by the Director.
15:16-15:35 Convocation Address by the Hon’ble Chief Guest
15:35-15:43 Registrar announces: “Presentation of the medals will now commence.”

The Chief Guest gives medals (online) to the recipients.

Students present in person will receive the medals from the Senate Chairperson and
BoG Chairperson on behalf of the Chief Guest with his permission.

15:43-7:25 Registrar announces: “Award of the degrees will now commence.”

17:26 Registrar announces: “The President of India Medalist will now administer the Pledge
to all the degree recipients. All degree recipients may please stand up and take the
pledge.”
17:27 The President of India Medalist, Mr. Gaurav Anil Khadse, administers pledge to all the
degree recipients.
17:28 BoG Chairperson announces: “I declare 9th Convocation of Indian Institute of
Technology Indore, closed.”
17:29 Registrar announces: “The convocation ceremony will conclude with the National
Anthem. Please stand up and remain standing till the Academic Procession leaves the
Convocation Hall.”

National Anthem is played.

17:30 After National Anthem, the Academic Procession leaves the Convocation Hall.

Post-Convocation activities
17:45-18:00 Group Photo-session of graduating students BOG Chairperson, Senate Chairperson,
and other Senate members.

18:30-19:30 High Tea for Chief Guest with BOG Chairperson, Senate Chairperson, Deans and
Heads and other Guests
18:30-19:30 High Tea for the Graduating students and their parents/accompanying guests, Institute
Guests, Marshals, Volunteers, Faculty and Staff members.
